Desktop Speakers

Just get some connectors and wire up your hifi system to your pc.

I doubt many people still own a typical "hifi" these days. Bluetooth speakers are basically all the average person needs now.

Fascinating. How do you get that nice deep bass that makes the windows rattle btw? Curious.

Soundselect also deliver nationwide. I've dealt with them in the past and they have given me great service.

I've emailed Sound Select. They recommended the Hybrid HF 5. I don't see any reviews on those speakers...

They usually recommend stuff that makes them the most profit btw. Check reviews before buying anything.

They seem to be the cheapest on offer: https://www.soundselect.co.za/hybrid-hf5

I'm guessing they recommended it due to your budget. Hybrid make good pro audio speakers at a low cost. Im sure they are fine, but you get what you pay for. If your budget can stretch, enquire about the Behringers from earlier.

Why would I want to drown out my music with excessive bass? I have a home theater setup for TV with a sub for the immersion in movies, etc. Surround setups don't work all that well for music which is why I listen to most music with my monitors or a pair of good cans connected to my PC.

This. The sound quality on those logitech's are laughable at best. I know this since I used to own the much better albeit older and no longer produced Z2300's. The new ones have cheaper components now and feature crappy DSP filtering to try make the boomy subwoofer and useless single driver satellite speaker sound adequate and reach most of the audible spectrum (Spoiler alert: It cant).

I got a pair of Z2300's, they pretty damn good at the price point... having said that I'd jump on a pair of studio monitors if I could be guaranteed a significant performance bump over the Logitech's?

I told them my budget of R3K and they suggested the Hybrid H5. The question is, should I try that out (or rather go one up for the H6) or rather just go for the Behringer?

Hi guys.

I've bought the HF5 speakers. They look really good. I need some help, they didn't come with a cable to connect to left and right speakers together. What is the right cable to get?
Will a Trs to trs cable work (does that cable exist). Do I need a audio interface or is my on board soundcard sufficient?

Please advise :)

Yes, it does. Any music shop will be able to help you there. If you are worried, just bring the speakers in and they will happily test in the shop.

Onboard should work fine, but audio interface would be better as that gives you inline volume control. Sometimes pro speakers need to use balanced cables to avoid ground loop noise too.
