Detecting scanner

I am trying to scan from my Canon CanoScan Lide 90. But Mac doesn't recognise the scanner at all. What should I do?
Its a USB powered scanner.

Don't worry, googled a solution. (should have done that prior to starting this thread)

Canon integrates scanners to OS X as an afterthought.
You generally need to use their software to scan, fortunately you can get the drivers off their website.
