Criminals wreck DFA cable, create network problems

Dark Fibre Africa (DFA) has informed customers that a section of its network in Western Gauteng has been vandalised, disrupting parts of its network.

“Devastating cable vandalism incidents continue to plague the country, in this case, causing significant damage to the company’s network operations,” DFA stated.
 
High time the ANC changes the law to state that any intentional damage to critical infrastructure is seen as terrorism and should carry life without parole.

Anyone enabling said terrorism through purchases of stolen/damaged infrastructure goods (robots, cables, road signs etc) should be seen as financing terrorism and should face the same penalty!

Increasing the penalties to terrorism does not help.
There are plenty existing laws for theft, damage to property, copper theft, etc.
The problem is there is very little enforcement of existing laws.
If SAPS were catching the thieves and prosecuting them using existing laws the problem would go away.

The whole criminal justice prison system in South Africa is broken.
Government leaders have weakened the criminal justice prison system to protect themselves getting caught/prosecuted for corruption.
"a fish rots from the head" results in out of control crime.
115 rapists & 68 murderers a day don't get caught, so what chance is there of catching these cable thieves?

Its an amazing FREE FOR ALL in this country.
The destruction of property carries on unabated.
Live for today .
Tomorrow is never even given a thought.
 
Those damaging infrastructure should be taken out there and then. No questions and lengthy court cases and things. Soon we will have everyone looking after infrastructure.

That is quite a number of fibers to splice. And I assume it can only be done by one or two teams because it is all in the same place. Somebody must be working hard

Terrorism - terrorists should be a shoot and ask questions later matter but that said it would open a can of worms in sa

No I don't think they tried that yet, those leds are still luminates blue light and they are little afraid of that...haha
