Diablo 3 - Builds thread

Your average gear level is mighty low. But you should be able to get away with just switching in a new weapon, you will easily double your damage. And if you get a socketed weapon, triple your damage is not that far fetched

ok thanks :)

What is your battle tag? I have a nice ruby that you can slot into a socketed one handed weapon and take your DPS up to 300 ish easily. Also you should be using a focus, not a shield :)

Have you tried the Auction House?

If you want to make it very easy on yourself, upgrade your gear every 5-7 levels, but there is no need to go for the most expensive item on the AH at all.

Up to Hell difficulty Act IV almost any gear that is not 10 levels below your toon's level should get you through.

Stack Vitality and your primary Stat, only in Inferno do you really need to start worrying about resist all and Life on Hit etc etc.

Right, so with the new patch being rolled out and plenty of changes to speak of, there is definitely room to discuss builds again.

I for one, have a CM wizard (still geared) which is now useless. I need to respec and regear.

I also have a DH that I am fiddling with to keep my hatred regen high enough.

So lets keep the discussion here so we can all participate

Bah damn Necromancer!! :p

I generally don't go for optimised builds, but will post mine here anyways for people to marvel over :D

LMB: Frenzy
RMB: Whirlwind
Slot 1: Ignore Pain
Slot 2: Battle Rage
Slot 3: Overpower
Slot 4: Furious Charge

Passives: Iron Skin, Ruthless, Inspiring Presence <- Probably going to change

My crit percentage is not overly high (39% unbuffed) but am able to get over 50% with the rune chosen for Overpower as well as the built in modifier of Battle Rage. This in turn increases the life steal I get from WW rune.

I find I'm able to generate enough Fury with Furious charge, runed to lower cast time based on enemies hit and Frenzy (just "feels" better than Bash).

Depending on how much I feel I need additional Fury, I will probably swap Inspiring presence for Weapon Master. I have a great weapon (Immortal King) so can possibly try and benefit a little more from that.

Finished leveling my Witch Doctor on Sunday and while leveling I somehow ended with this build:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#WghUTY!VaT!bbccZY

I wanted to make use of pets, so that's why I have Zombie Dogs, Gargantuan & a bunch of little Fetish dudes from the passive to tank for me.
I also have +Fire +Poison items so that's why I have some runes that I play around with as I feel.

I've seen the other builds ppl talk about but I've just hit 60 and I've already been to T4 with all the minions tanking and I myself chilling and having fun.
This is obviously not a burst dmg build, but its fun atm and I love how with the new patch you can actually try and use so many different spells and have fun with them vs the 1 or 2 OP or good builds all classes previously had.

I understand a general issue with Witch Doctor's atm is Mana, but with this build you never really have any issues and u can just change 1 or 2 things for boss fights.

Cool build that, I use a similar build, but I need way more DPS only doing T1 and it takes a while for pets to kill mobs.
Having Vampire Bats, spawn an army of fetish in no time because of no channeling cost.

Thanks for that link. Going to try some of those DH builds. Been playing with a new build since the weekend that does a hell of a lot more damage than my lightning ball build. Hatred is still an issue though.

Ok so I haven't learned the names by heart yet, so I'll describe the skill if necessary.
My Crusader

LMB: Slash with 20% crit chance rune
RMB: Shield bash with the damage to enemies caught in the cross
Skill 1: Judgement with 80% chance to crit rune
Skill 2: Condemn with the vacuum rune
Skill 3: Law of Valor with the LoH rune
Skill 4: Falling Sword with the swordnado rune

Passives: The only one I remember is Heavenly strength due to my 2h weapon.

Overall it works quite nicely. Big mobs/elites/bosses I cast condemn to suck as many enemines as I can to me, followed quickly by judgement and falling sword. This is normally followed up by 2 shield bashes. All of this normally crits due to the rune on judgement, giving me a large burst dps.

Condemn's cooldown is pretty short, meaning I can cast it a few more times, depending on the length of the fight and should things start heading South, I activate my law for the added LoH.

I found a new WD build that I want to test drive... don't think it would be successfull with my gear but looks interesting

His mana stays pretty full with that build, would like to see his passives, doesn't seem to be using haunt or I am just not seeing it being used.

This is my current build:http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#gUdjQY!fWTc!ZZcYbc
will most likely swap out Mass Confusion with Acid Cloud or Zombie Chargers for a nuke option as I seem to be full on mana with this & will need a mana spender, tried the Zombie Charger with Pile On & Piranado skill but I OOM so quickly :(.
Once I start getting the Zuni set I will try & switch over to Poison damage, I just love my Spirit Barrage atm.

I was actually thinking of getting a few of the WD guys together so get some thoughts on builds gearing & enchanting.
Just surprised at how much I am enjoying my WD I started playing with the pre exp patch & must say I prefer him over my Barb.
Another skill I need to replace once I get a better offhand is my Zombie Dogs, but you got to love the 27% damage taken on them, helps a lot with survivability.

I also enjoy my WD very much. I tried that build, but it just to mana hungry, i'm not geared for that, but the damage it does is insane!
I really like a sacrifice build with the homoculus, but with the sacrifice damage being so low its not worth it, and with only relying on my homoculus to spawn the dogs they have no rune effect on so it sucks a bit.
I would also love the Zuni set it will be awesome for my fetish

My main (Crusader) uses a shotgun build and my alt WD uses the Jades build

My crusader I am perfectly comfortable with playing and the playstyle I have down to a T, but my Jade WD I feel like I dont know what I'm doing, I spam haunt then get off one locust swarm then soul harvest and sometimes I dont do the damage I would like, is this because I dont have a quetzecoatl?

WD
Crusader

Oh also, If anyone is doing T6 add me we can jam (monks and jades move to the front of the queue ^_^)

Demon Hunter: Full Marauder + Nats + Mr Yan build
Paragon: 325

New build allowed me to run a solo (with Scoundrel companion) T6 rift last night - slow, but doable - thank you Mr Yan.

Just nice to know I can.

Sheet DPS: 1.84 (Yan active); 1.1 (Yan not active)
Toughness: 13.4

Bonuses:
Multishot - 21%
Companion - 13%
Sentry - 14%
Fire - 19% (if I swap bracer for Strongarm, I can get 28% damage bonus on knockback for 5 seconds - ran out of time to test - can equip Scoundrel with 48% knockback Windforce)
