right, so I've created a thread for a separate build discussion. seems like there is loads of speculation regarding what is working bet for the various classes

I guess that is half the fun, figuring out the best stat builds, combos etc etc.

I think just state what,

level you are
class you are

Im a monk, level 17 and trying to figure out why a monk class weapon like the daibo is complete rubbish. Seems like sword and shield gives higher DPS, faster spirit build (from faster attack speed) and the other option is also to use two one hand weapons..

Ive been stacking dex as well, but my mate is 1 level higher than me and his DPS is 55 and mine is 45

sorry if this sounds stupid, but how exactly do you see your dps? Im only level 7 monk or so but havent really noticed a spot to see my dps.

Level 17 Barbarian, I'm using an axe and a shiv lol.

One thing Iv'e noticed is there doesn't seem to be a specialisation like choosing one skill tree (like DIablo 2) as all the skills seems to just get unlocked as you progress.

I'm also monk lvl 11 at the moment. I find i'm basically building a paladin.
Big sword, big shield, lots of armor..

I too haven't looked at my dps either, and mainly focus on weapons that give additional exp per kill or increase gold find.
But it's still early days.

Still early days here

Level 8 - Demon Hunter - One handed crossbow plus shield (heh, not only does the one hand crossbow allow me to use my offhand, it's also the most powerful ranged weapon I've been able to find/buy at this point)

Equipping items that increase chance of magic drops at the moment - want to farm magic essence to build stuff at the blacksmith

39.5 Monk using a Daibo here...

My current build - http://d3db.com/tool/calculator/monk/19249

I tore through Normal and am steam rolling through Nightmare

Way of the Hundred Fists grants +15% MS and AS, even at 5% base crit chance, it's up 80% of the time when in combat

Dashing Strike is amazing for getting out of massive groups/getting out of danger - Molten/Plague debuffs can kill very fast. The stun rune helps with pesky casters/summoners

Breath of Heaven + Seven Sided Strike for 1k damage per strike on Yellows/Blues/Treasure Goblins

Wave of Light for knockback/clearing weaker swarms

The Transcendence passive is sitting on 15 life for each spirit used for me currently.... 1x Wave of Light = 1125 heal :D

um, you press C and the damage number is your DPS

Im still struggling to come to terms with the fact that the monk doesnt use any of his weapons... ever...

how long have u been playing???

btw way is it just me or are rings and amulets just impossible to find? i end up buying them!

Ive played with a few other people who had wizards, they all use the exact same spells. Blizzard messed up by not creating specialized skill trees like D2 had

can someone with a Monk tell me if 2h daibo is worth it? Or should I rather focus on 2 x 1h fist (monk) weapons?

Experiment with both weapon types and left click skills, see which playstyle you enjoy the most

Blizz have made different combos far more viable than the cookie cutter optimal builds everyone is used to in WoW

I have a lvl 17 wizard which ive manage to take into act 2 but my goodness has it been difficult. I also have a lvl 13 monk which i used before the wizard and it was a heck of a lot easier to manage. Think I died twice with him....and like 9870 times with the wizard.

The highest DPS weapon i have found so far is 21. +4 exp. My BS is lvl 3 and is still crafting crap.

Is there anyone oit there that is at around the end of act 1 in normal difficulty that wants to join my party? Trying to get 4 guys is a mission for me. Lol.

Send me your ID if you are being keen

Im currently playing a Monk, lvl 21.

For 20 levels i played with a 1h + Shield. worked brilliantly. Now i switched to dual wield for that bit of extra attack speed also works lekker. Honestly have no clue which is better, what kills stuff quicker, it all seems the same at the moment.

I hate 2H weapons, yes Massive damage but attack speed is sooooooooooo slow.

what 1h weapons are you using? the plus xp after kill is good stat hey?

Im using a wizard, level 26/7, still in normal difficulty last act. I am absolutely hating the fact that i can't switch spells on the fly, or otherwise i am blind when i look in the options menu. Max 6 spells is really crap.

Currently for the whole PvM, left button is magic missile, right button is disintegrate, keys 1 to 4 is frost nova, ice armor, diamond skin and teleport. Really sucks that the arcane amount can't be increased like mana and there aren't any stat points to assign to vitality, 2k hp on soft wizard doesn't seem to be cutting it lol.

aha will check it when i get home. Yes doesnt seem to me as if he uses his weapons yet but im still very early in the game. have only managed to finish around 4 quests or so.

So far im using 2 1h weps for extra damage. Cant really tell a difference between 1 or 2 weps in damage so far. but guess will see late game.

Not really trying to stack anything specific stat wise, just trying to get all blues/rares. If i can i try and get the stat to find more magical items so i can use them for Blacksmithing but i think late game that will change. I guess the + exp stat is also very useful for levelling faster but so far im in no rush to level, just enjoying the game and quests for now.

Level 15 Sangoma, I bought most of my kit off the Auction house for real cheap. Using exploding dogs and a passive spell that creates dogs randomly for enemy bodies. I use a 1 handed weapon and a shrunken head disting.

Currently a Rare mace (23.2 dps) and a fist weapon (22.5) dps. Both same attack speed (1.4 or 1.2 not sure).

Plus XP after kill stat? whats that
