No, you'll know a set when you see one - will say something like part 1 of 3 of set xyz

Im level 27 Barbarian, are there any 1 handed weapons that has an attack speed faster than 1.5? I have a scimitar that does 2-4 fire damage and normal damage is 41.

Lvl 51 Barb - 1.3K dmg (2h yellow polearm with 137dps)

I use:
Cleave with the explosive rune
Whirlwind with the +1 Fury per hit rune
Leap attack with the tremor that draws peeps in rune
Ground Stomp with the 76% dmg rune
War Cry with the life regen rune
Beserker with 100% extra dmg rune

Passives are the two that add armour - one based on Vit - and the one that adds life per hit.

So I leap into the middle of a group which draws everthing close (still do this on NM), Stomp them to stun, do my warcry after which I have enough fury to do a fairly lengthy whirlwind. Depending on the strength/size of the enemies I'm killing, I'll transform to my beautifil beserker. Not much lives past that (bar bosses and elites).

Lvl 38 Wizard Act 2 in Nightmare. I hate act 2. To many critters appearing suddenly and that %%$^ poison fly thing aarg.

Running around with a 2h hammer. Looks funny for a wizard. Have about 1K dps and 1.4K with buffs but then iam as flimsy as 80gram printing paper.

Lvl 51 Monk, just finished Nightmare.
Currently Duel Wielding, 1600dps, 17k life. Im pretty much stacking Dex + Vit. Have a shield if needed too

I use the following skills:
Left click : Fists of fury with teleport rune
Right click = Cripplin attack + Mangle rune
1 = Blinding Attack with increased distance for blinding (So usefull to get you out of tricky situations)
2 = Lashing tail Kick/Seven Sided strike - i mix around with runes
3 = Breath of light + Increased healing benefit rune
4 = Healing Mantra + Increased life regen rune.

Passive skills : the one that grants 100% armour linked to dex, All resistances equal to highest resistance, monsters damage reduced by 25% for 2.5sec

so far so good, quite a good survivability build. It gets to tough in nightmare when you playing with stupid players and you have to face like 1 king and 3 champions, especially those bastards with Vampiric & Desecration/Molten. Flip it takes long to kill them, but we downed diablo in 1 shot. easy

Ok, so got to Hell now and things have changed.....
I won't buy anything from the AH, but managed to get these boosts from items the vendors in town sold:
Lvl 52.5 Barb - 1.7K dmg (2 x 1h weapons) and 3.1K armour (Got lucky with some strength/vitality combo items).

I use:
Cleave with the increased dmg rune
Whirlwind with the +1 Fury per hit rune
Leap attack with 400% armour for 5 sec rune
Ground Stomp with the 76% dmg rune
Ignore Pain with the rune that adds 20% dmg taken as life
Beserker with 100% extra dmg rune

Passives are the two that add armour - one based on Vit - and the one that adds life per hit.

I realised quickly that I was not going to fare to well in Hell when the zombies you fight outside the gate of the first town - before entering - were whipping some candy ass. I then teamed with a monk who was SEVERELY outdoing me in both survivability and damage while rescuing Cain... When I got back to town, I checked the vendors, bought some gear and headed out again. MUCH better!

i find gear to be extremely vital, it adds SO much survivability and damage its incredible.
The auction house kind of ruins the game. I bought 2x 1 handers with +50 dex, +50 vit at 125dps each (both with sockets), this cost me a total of 18,000 gold. I still havn't found better items and i've just finished nightmare :/

Depends how you use the AH. I used it once to get a above level gem to socket into my weapon when I realised I was doing perhaps 25% of the damage I should be doing at that level. So it was a small boost to help me gear my character properly a bit faster (could kill mobs faster, so could find better stuff faster).

Havent got any interesting builds yet since I'm not done with normal yet haha :p

I will never diss anyone that gets anything from the AH (If I had 25 odd mil I can tell you I'd be eying out the Immortal King set)... it's just I don't feel like it's fair buying all your items instead of getting them ingame. What REALLY annoys me though, is the lack of decent 2h weapons. I always hit a point where 1h weapons do the same or more dmg than my 2h. Then just as I find a good 2h, an even better 1h drops :(

For sure, if you got the gold who cares. I just used it so that I wouldnt have to slog about for an hour trying to get decent drops just to get half decent dps on my monk. I was at 100dps, when other people were around 500, haha

I also found the same with 2H weapons, they have great damage, but then attack so slow, your dps goes through the floor :/ Luckily I'm a 2x1H kind of guy, so it doesnt bother me too much, but its still annoying

As much as some look down on the AH, I find it great to sell items instead of sending them to a vendor which feels so meh...

Dispite what I said about buying ALL items of the AH, I feel it was a necessary progression from Blizzard's side as some form of safeguard for people who've bought their game. I will put items up there, I just won't buy anything. That may even change as I'm still doing ok in Hell Act I.... should I be absolutely steamrolled though, the AH may suddenly become my new best friend :D

All I want to avoid is the feeling of "cheating" the game. I know I contradict myself based on my sentiments above, but (and I said this before) there are too many people saying that NM and Hell are "too easy" but they bought all the max gear they could from the AH instead of relying on what they ACTUALLY get. Hell is FAR from easy for my dude and as can be seen from my Stats thread, my damage is somewhat lacking. I am coping though and as such, will not be going to AH. It just saddens me to see a towering hulk with huge weapons being out damaged by every other class.

53 Monk, Skele King (Hell) dead

DW, 3.8k dps 22k life, 3k Armor, 127 resistance, 30% dodge

Pointless linking my current build since it's hardly effective anymore

I'll be trying out this tonight;

Left Click: Way of the Hundred Fists (Fists of Fury)
Right Click: Lashing Tail Kick (Scorpion Sting/Hand of Ytar) or Exploding Palm (Essence Burn) depending on how useful #3 is
1: Breath of Heaven (Blazing Wrath)
2: Serenity (Reap What is Sown)
3: Seven Sided Strike (Pandemonium)
4: Mantra of Healing (Sustenance)

Passives; Guardian's Path, Seize the Initiative, One with Everything

I generally test my builds out in Nightmarish Whimsyshire (Hell hp mobs, Nightmare damage)

interesting build. I guess i'll be changing my build soon when i start in hell :)

anyone want to put a group together for hell, lotsa guys seem to be in the level 50-55 group
