Diablo 3 latency

sitting on 489ms ping from iBurst right now.....

And i bet at 5pm i will be sitting on 2800ms :wtf:

i played the entire night last night with 400-600 ms using 8ta and it was perfect. It really is fine at those pings if you do not spike.

The spikes are the problem though. The only times I died was because of sudden latency spikes.

I find that in the mornings early the latency is exceptionally good and then as the day progresses it gradually gets worse. After 8 in the evening I also sit with a ping of about 500 to 600 ms with the occasional spike. As long as those spikes are there it's not worthwhile playing a hardcore character.

However I'm enjoying the game a lot!

I am with Mweb (perhaps not for long) and cannot even play the latency is so high on d3, 1mb line, no dl`s running etc...lately the line has just croaked. Mweb did admit they had a problem when i logged the first call. So i dunno where all this hype about blaming the eu servers comes from. On BFBC2 my ping spikes on local sa servers.

I have sub 200ms in WoW, but 450+ in D3. It's not my line or ISP...

Doing a trace gives 200ms response for me, to the last pingable hop. You're welcome to test it yourself. This is the ip Blizzard provides to test for Diablo III EU:

That means that the additional latency is likely due to issues like server congestion.

Just finished a 3 hour session, 212ms ping to eu server's, mweb 1mbps uncapped

Oh and it never went above 300ms even once

The latency in D3 is terrible Around 500ms to 800ms There's something wrong with the D3 EU servers right, not with my line.
