Diablo 3 latency

They will have to sort that out, euro players who are used to 30ms all of a sudden getting 230ms+ latency wont sit well.

This must be some sort of temp fix because when I played on day 1 the latency was in the lower 200's, yesterday mid 400's. The servers must be suffering.

If I got 230ms I would be overjoyed!

Funny thing now is that people are asking whether the game is playable, instead of asking whether the game is awesome.

Diablo 1 & 2 was awesome.
Diablo 3 is playable.

They knew this was going to be an issue...

Hopefully the amount of people who purchased the game in SA will be enough to justify some kind of authentication server in SA.

or Piracy... ;)

I am on 8ta 3g and i get a nice ping from 300ms and its fine got a lvl 18 wichy

Also had around 450ms last night :(

Really annoying at times...I can't see why we need to have latency on a "single" player game...

What's really annoying is just as you get into a nice rhythm, BOOM - you've been disconnected - there you are carefully creeping around, thinking, hmm. left or right; or, I've cleared out that little nest of vermin, let me circle around before going through this portal and.....ah crap - resume and you're somewhere near where you were but NOT exactly where you were.

Blizzard, listen up - it really, really detracts from the enjoyment of an awesome game.

I get 600 - 800ms average, Asia server. 4mb mweb

try EU server much better if u can

For those of you who don't read gaming/tech sites:

The servers are getting hammered during peak hours (6pm to 12am) so expected high latencies.

Pretty much this.

Everyone is experiencing latency hikes, US servers too.

Going to try the following tonight

1. Change battle.net password - apparently this is a fix for Error 12 - really want to play on euro server which is where most saffers will be playing
2. Open port 1119 - suggested fix for 3007
3. Increase TCP and UDP values - error 3007
4. Reboot PC, modem, flush DNS cache
5. Open public chat window before entering sanctuary - error 3007 workaround

I played last with a mate in england. using an 8ta dongle on a 3year old laptop, running at average 500ms, and I experienced no problems whatsoever. I told him about it, and he said he hadnt even noticed. so, those getting 500ms or less, what are ya'll on about?

Latley i have been getting very high Ping on SA servers on my MWeb 1mb ADSL account for BFBC2 and BF3, never ever had this problem in the past, no other apps/dl`s running the background, reset routers, swapped routers, reinstalled OS and Games, still no luck.

Diablo III has very high latency at all times of day, morning, night, other folks i know playing on IS/other 1mb ADSL or 3G and no problems at all.

Any advice, very frustrated user

I played for a fair bit, 4 others in co-op at times.. no issues with DC's at all. Really enjoying the game, got a lvl 11 Sangoma.

Well MWeb are punting the game with a 1mbps uncapped offer, perhaps we should ask them to provide a local server?

There will NEVER be a local server. Its not financially viable for any international developer to host their own server here.
