Consider it saved then, because that will be coming in patch 1.1

That's another thing people seem to forget, they see the end game as a item grind only, but they forget that they'll have to have one or 2 epic chars when PvP hits, that motivates me atleast, to keep finding better gear so I can stand a chance at PvP

I look forward to patch 1.1 then. x_x

Too little too late, imo. Once GW2 and/or Torchlight 2 releases, Diablo 3 is going to see a mass exodus of players again.

Diablo is not wow, it was never about the story.

Anyway, I tried the paragon system and new patch last night, the game simply does not have anything left in it that can keep my interested for longer than a few minutes.

Diablo was never about the story? really? I know everyone wants to find potent items but if that's all the game has left to offer, I don't see the appeal anymore.

imo Diablo 3 will never be able to match #2, I can still remember hunting down Mephisto, trying to find complete item sets (green) and enjoying the game... now when i play Diablo 3 It feels like a bad job that I want to finish as soon as possible just to be done with it.

Watch someone else play diablo 3(their body\facial expressions) does it look like they having fun.

Maybe when playing normal mode and you seeing everything for the first time, also what happened to diablo's random area's so many of the maps seem to be fixed.

Conclusion:Give me a HD mod for D2, Ill gladly throw D3 away and never speak of it.

The same can be said about Diablo 2 - sure it's fun hunting down Mephisto, but is it just as fun the twentieth time around? What about the second/third time in nightmare and hell difficulties?

Edit: Also the random areas are missed very much, now there are just predefined areas with a random (but still predefined) dungeon, but that's probably the price of prettier graphics (randomly generated areas would have more unnatural connections and graphical glitches, although a LOT of development could have minimised this)

One thing I have to agree upon though is that in D2 the story wasn't forced down your throat and for the most part you could go off and just kill your way through without problems, in D3 you basically have to talk to x after every quest to progress(gates are locked until you do)

GW2 is a MMO, D3 is not, if you like the cartoonish graphics TL2 has to offer, I'm sure you'll enjoy one or 2 play throughs;)

Except, most players don't play games for graphics. We play them because we want solid gameplay, which Diablo 3 was not really offering. I went through Diablo 3 once on Normal, then uninstalled it. No intention to ever play it again.

TL2 movement in the beta is absolutely horrible, it just doesn't feel smooth like the first game did which is enough to make me steer clear from it.

And you're telling me you're going to play TL2 over and over and over again?? Yeah right;) Nothing wrong with only playing through a game once though, and I've got nothing against TL2, will probably give it a play through myself(being the big RPG fan I am), but maybe it's a bit early to compare the 2, TL2 is not even out yet...D3 is a good game(lol at the part where you said D3 doesn't offer solid gameplay), but how can you judge the game if you haven't even unlocked all the skills on your char:confused:

+1 unlocking the higher skills really does add to the enjoyment factor.

What worked for me was rushing Act 1 and 2 the second time round cos I don't like those acts. I enjoy Act 3 cos it has more 'questy' bits - light the fires, raise the catapults, etc.

Because as far as I got, I've had enough of the game to see that it is rather shoddy. I highly doubt more skills is going to make me enjoy the game more. Any game that almost forces me to choose between farming gold to buy items on an external auctionhouse or risk being stuck with level 8 boots at level 22 is not exactly my idea of fun. And that's where Diablo 3 misses the mark. It's a farming game, whereas you could easily get through Diablo 2 without farming for equipment.

Torchlight 2 doesn't need to be a game I can replay endlessly to be fun. It has to be fun. I'd much rather play a game with a solid gameplay experience once than endlessly replay a game that's boring, which is what I found Diablo 3 to be.

.

I stopped reading right here haha, so D2 wasn't a farming game? And you played through hell difficulty in D2 without ever going back an act or difficulty to farm some gear to progress? Troll much??

You're a funny guy, go google something like "pindle runs" or "baal runs" and see how many links you get? Please care to explain how people can rerun content for hours on end in a "non farming" game like D2?

I like the new patch and all the changes. They made legendaries, legendary. They gave the game a bit more of a end game feel with the paragon system and they reworked the skills so that there are many more viable builds for inferno.

This patch has given D3 an extended stay on my PC :p:D

Trust me, the upgraded skills make a difference. The game really does change character significantly second time through. Not the story of course, but the gameplay experience.

I'm not a great farmer but have not found that to be problem. I also find that there is plenty of decent stuff really cheap on the AH - in fact, wasted most of my Gold on upgrading the blacksmith in the beginning - with the money I spent training him (and the gem guy) I could have bought much better stuff much earlier.

Ps - the first run with first character was tough - then, when I started playing with another character and had my previous hard won / picked up gear, it was much easier and more enjoyable.

Anyhow, each to their own I say.

On Normal difficulty, I didn't have to farm for equipment once in Diablo 2. In Diablo 3 it was my primary way of getting decent equipment to just ensure my character doesn't run around with stuff 10 levels or more lower than his level.

I think it's pretty obvious on higher difficulties you're going to need to farm for equipment. You shouldn't be forced to do that on lower difficulties. You should be acquiring your equipment as you play.

Oh was under the impression you were talking end game(where the fun is at), but seriously though, if you need to farm normal just to progress you're doing something wrong:p

the #1 Paragon Char in the world, Alkaizer started to stream recently on twitch.tv. His barb is really impressive. I think he is plvl98 now.

World First Paragon level100 should be in the next 24hours or so.
