Did anyone jailbreak their iPhone 4 yet- I got mine and I would like to beable to install VLC so i can watch avi files without doing a lengthy conversion.

You dont need to jailbreak to install VLC on your iphone. VLC is available for free on the appstore. VLC isnt an amazing program on iOS, its rather crippled. Openstreamer works more like you would expect VLC to work

Openstreamer is available from Cydia for free too. You need to jailbreak your phone. Upgrade to iOS 4.1 and then use limerain. It works 100%

VLC is only available for iPad ATM. iPhone version is in the works

well VLC on iOS isnt what you would expect anyways. Its not going to play all the formats that you think it will. It isnt as revolutionary on iOS as it was on the pc. You'll find out for yourself.

I don't see how you can make that statement without the app being out.. Would you judge a car before you drive it?

VLC is out on the normal appstore for IPHONE since yesterday.
It does not handle 720 mkv though...
It moans about hardware limitations.
