Disagree. Their standard has dropped.
New favourite is the Pie Man (or Mr Pie) down on Walmer Boulevard (close to VP Club).
Must be a recent development because they were still awesome a couple of months ago.

If you are ever in Durban go try Bread Ahead in Cowey Road, it's so good you'll move to Durban
And it's Halaal 
They started franchising a few years ago and I tried the store that was in Durban North and it was nothing like the original one in Cowey Rd, it was actually crap!

we used to go to bread ahead when we stayed in dbn ...think that place is open for over 20years
there is Delhi Delicious in jhb who sells nice pies as well
