Digging up the roads

“On the other hand we understand the frustration of citizens, which is why Neotel is working very closely with the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) to ensure that our impact is limited.”
IMPACT is limited??? wtf? on one road in JHB I have to drive through 12 of these "dugged up" roads in the space of 1km... I think I average about 40 of these shocking conditions a day! wonder if I can sue them for damage to my wheel alignment...

All this "development" helps us bugger-all unless we (the citizens) get access to those fat fiber optic pipes, even if it's only for national communications.

I agree with you guys, its nice that fibre is coming around. But the condition of the roads is too much. The road in front of our house has been dug up by a meter wide trench and just been left like that for 4 MONTHS!!!! some mornings it takes me 10 minutes to get out of my own gate.
And i have lost a tyre thanks to a trench (Just off republic road) that was dug and left for 4 weeks. The filling that neotel uses is just plain sand most of the time.

I don't care if it is the responsibility of the JRA to fix it (we know they are useless anyway), neotel should make sure they refill it with cement that will last and they should make sure the JRA actually get to it cause its a bad representation on them.

Yes, i am venting, i am sorry.

Thanks for listening. :p

Neotel dug a trench in front of my house today and left a pile of earth that you needed a 4x4 to get through. So there I was shoveling earth to get my car down my driveway. As far as I am concerned they can stick their broadband up their A..se. I know lots of people who have damaged tyres because of not filling trenches, and they have contributed to the traffic chaos in Rosebank and Sandton.

With an attitude like this they can keep their broadband. I will stick with telkom.

Anyway, what they have to offer shows they have not done any research into market requirements.
