Digichilli is very slow though. And contrary to what their website says, the support line is going straight to voicemail. What was that about "6am to 10pm daily (Monday to Sunday)"?

No thanks. I've had enough of this now. At first it was unreliabe but the line speeds, when they the connection was working, was great. Now they are not only still unreliable but average line speed has also dropped. I don't want a dsl solution where I have to go through all this hassle at least once every four days. I want to switch on my pc and have hassle free internet.

Support has turned into a farce aswell. Except for the telephone lines which don't opperate as advertised the e-mail is also bad. Four days for a query to be addressed is unacceptable turnaround time.

I'll be off then to somwehere that will cost a lot more but that actually delivers. So long. I hope you get this sorted before your DSL offering goes belly up, though I fear it might be too late.

Dead as it can be.

Browsing sux, astra dead, they have not answered a single e-mail this entire week.

I think I will not be renewing come month end.

It looks like all the comments on this thread make no difference to them, and they will not be succeeding in the market with this kind of attitude.

I'm also getting fed up with their service and I've been a staunch supporter from the start. But the speeds are atrocious, when you report it, they have an attitude like this is all news to them. I have now been struggling for a week (January was great btw), logged a call, got a ticket. But everytime they phone me during office hours when I am not at home. Then I phone them back at around 3-4. only to speak to someone that is still struggling with basic english.

This person for two days in a row has told me the exact same thing :"The internet is broken, they are working on it now". And after a week of struggling, they came back to me:"Uhm, yes there is a problem, a lot of users have this problem, we are working on it". I mean seriously??!! Should they be working on anything more complex than a calculator? There network updates are pathetic, according to their site: "Network is good - 2nd Feb". Don't know which network they are working on, but its not the same one as me.

FFS, can't you see that your virtual pipe solution is not working? Its been 3 months since the launch, aren't there suppose to be a hint of stability by now?

To Lightscribe, dude you need to be given a medal or a free months Internet from DC because your patience is out of this world. :)

/makes note to check thread more often, hopefully some positive news will come out...

+1

Now for some positive news... Bursting is back :D Browsing is *** but that's okay just shows to me DC is working on whatever the hell the problem is. I will post speed test's later once browsing is working again, but for now my speeds are anything between 12kB/s to 45kB/s but mainly in the middle 20's to high 30's :) Torrents still dead but again for now it's OK ;)

Don't get too excited. My geuss is that the problem is somewhere in their virtul pipe solution and the rason your connection is burstable again is because they hav rolled back to the pre pipe configuration.

And yes, they may be working on it, but they have been working on it for a long time now. I'm sick of being nothing more than a paying Beta tester for this company.

Speeds are all over the place, but it seems to get faster the longer it's going (Check speed test 2 - 24kB/s). Speedtest.net aslo revealed some interesting things like London is deadly slow while Europe is pretty much the same, but agian the USA seems to have better speeds and pings. I noticed 1 more thing.... Anyone notice Telkom and quite a few other test severes are missing from Africa LOL :D

Just goes to show you that there's a good chance that it's Telkom messing things up or at least partly to blame :p

I'm optimistic that DC is finally going in the right direction. If they have gone pre virtual pipe I'd still be happy seeing as I got 3.3GB average before the virtual poop thing. Unfortunately and fortunately I believe they haven't gone back because a) everything is working unlike before (torrents, IM, Audio streaming etc) b) I can't browse if I'm downloading so it's not being shaped by DC but by me c) Bursting isn't going above 25kB/s now.

I'm not going to give DC a golden star at all they have to still earn it, but I will give them the fact that for R240 I managed 72GB's last month. I really want DC to work for everyone and I know it will! So I'll just sit here with my slow speeds and get what I can while can  I truly hope DC works for you soon and for everyone else :)

telkom international still dead, but local works again. It may even be that I merely ran out of the 1 gig international...Although I had international, just ultra slow.

No longer dead but I still have the 20kBs wall so either they haven't gone pre-pipe or I'm just particularly farked.....though from the looks of things *reads above* it seems I'm not the only one.

Okay after a router restart I'm pleasantly getting my 32kBs..............but I'm not going to be foolish enough to think this'll last until I see a couple of days of success.
