DigiChilli Network Status December

what i want to know is howcome some people seem to have a decent connection while others are barely useable. i read of alot of folks who also have 384 lines and are downloading GB's a day or over 10 gigs this month for example. I've managed about 1 gig..

+1 I've also done about 1GB in the last week, where I would probably have done around 15GB on my previous account.

Can someone ping the following IPs please? From a Digichilli account.

Hey Dave, looks like the packet loss has started again, from about 30min ago.

Otherwise, today what is known to be working, was working 100%.

I trust you will update us shortly

Thanks for the info Dave. :)

For two days now, I cannot teleport from one place to another in Secondlife. It just logs me out every time.

Must be related to the issues you mention.

I tried the PPPOE and it shows me downloading and uploading MBps...without me downloading anything...It reaches gigs in a few minutes...

It will not work unless the usual router setup is done, then the PPPoE, which results in both running at at the same time. The usual link is still at 5-12k.

From my side I have definitely seen improvement over the last 3 days.
Does anybody doubt the figures of the stats?
Mine says I've downloaded 12GB for December and I almost can't believe it.
I normally only download and aps. I did download a movie twice to test.
Not sure what my daughter did, maybe she did all the damage?

Anyone else noticed a huge decrease in http download speeds in the last 20 min or is it just me?

That actually sounds like good speeds. Wish I could have something similar, but you're probably also on a 4mbps line. I only have 384kbps.

No, I'm on 384k...

Something is wrong. I'm not downloading. It starts up/downloading as soon as I connect the PPPoE. Check the details of the previous post of mine.

Something is very wrong.

Surely it should not flow that fast on my line...and for no reason...

Anyone else noticed a huge decrease in http download speeds in the last 20 min or is it just me?

Yes, it's very slow at around 1-10k.

Except for the average of only 12k on a single download, my service was fine, until 2 days ago.

Then things got slower and I can no longer stay in SL. It just logs me out of the game due to a bad connection, every time I teleport(url in the game).

The issues Dave mentioned started then too. So it's something that will take a few days to resolve, as per the the DC website's Network Status report.

There is another known issue at this stage. The pool of IP's are spread across the 40 odd Telkom ESR's evenly. When those IP's run out, one will be pulled from the pool. This is really slow and causes some time outs and PAP auths. Please power down modem/router, have a coffee, and reconnect. This works in most instances. Patience is recommended until Telkom dump more IP's on their ESR's in the next few days. http://www.digichilli.com/

Have now tested my connection properly, this is compared to telkom. Hoepfully they are working on this: ;)

DC / Telkom

Download: 21 / 37 international
upload 7 /11 international
download 30/35 local
upload 9/ 11 local
steam: No/yes
gtalk: no/yes
google mail slow but working/ also slow but working
browsing is sluggish but ok on dc/ fast on telkom

Google taking a while to load on DC, also a bit slow on telkom

my websites cpanel isn't loading via dc at all, fine on telkom
international downloads seem to stop for a few seconds on dc / telkom is fine

strange thing is torrents (international) are both 30 on dc/30 on telkom?
