I cannot connect at all...get error 691 again. Anyone else?

Proff

Well my torrents are still not budging. I have a torrent with 239 seeds and 444 peers and I'm only getting a measly 0.2 - 1.2 kB/s international.

Local torrents are uploading at an average of 40kB/s though, but still only to other DC users.

Still no Steam.

My GTalk logs in via the browser but Digby cannot connect. Digby connects to my MSN account without any issues most of the time though.

Browsing is OK but only managing between 5 and 10kB/s when downloading a file international and 5kB/s when downloading from ftp.games.saix.net.

Pretty much status quo since before the weekend ...

EDIT: My average speed between 04:00 and 14:30, including the couple of bursts of speed has been 1.2kB/s incoming and 3.02kB/s outgoing

Data usage per se doesn't quantify quality. We know that. But data usage does also translate into value at some point as that is how it is measured and paid for by almost everyone else.

.

Well you say this but I can show you about 20 items on my HDD that drop at around 50% thus lets say I went after a 1.3GB download and lost it at 50% that leaves me with 650mb downloaded but nothing to truely show for it

Hi Dave,
I asked earlier for an explanation of why the problems are taking such a long time to fix? I realise this topic is moving faster than an express train, and often I skip pages as I can't possibly read all posts. Hopefully you can spot this question then. The reason I am asking is I thought it would just be a matter of shuffling all your router rules around and setting up priority rules. Obviously I don't have a clue of our a commercial ISP works, but please help me understand, as I really am beginning to feel you guys have bitten off too much than you can chew.

Afaik it is taking so long because the majority of the problems are with DC's supplier, and they have no control over them.

Just tried connecting my trial account, works fine. Other account still online and working.

Posting on my saix account...just tried again - error 691. Something is wrong, how can some connect and others not? And, their support line is engaged

I've had that too, it connects after a few tries I find. Keep retrying while you try to contact them.

Why pay R600 when you can get working uncapped/unshaped for about R500?

Because that's what I would be willing to pay a company for uncapped who does not want control over my line. We might see many interesting changes in 2010 in terms of ISP offerings, Hellkom might up line speeds etc, so I want to be in a good position to move IPS without a mission.
I obviously prefer DC's R300 package, but it'll be much cooler if it worked.
It's a lil like selling an Audi R8 without an engine. Rather gimme the engine too and charge me.

Go here. http://visualroute.visualware.com/

Click the start button, then click Performance Graph.

Hover your mouse pointer over the hops, to see the detailed info, for each hop.

Then click start again and hover your mouse pointer over the BCS Durban hop.

Watch the packet loss in real time.

Edit: Also notice the 100% packet loss, which has been there from the beginning, between London and BCS Durban/Jhb. I've noticed they sometimes connect from one or the other, to London.

From me to VisualRoute today, is the worst I've seen yet. http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=14001&cat=500
