Only thing working for me at the moment is torrents. Max around 5KB/s. Browsing, local or int., doesn't work at all. =(

Nothing is even working for me anymore. this has probably been the worst day the whole month

Go here. http://visualroute.visualware.com/

Click the start button, then click Performance Graph.

Hover your mouse pointer over the hops, to see the detailed info, for each hop.

Then click start again and hover your mouse pointer over the BCS Durban hop.

Watch the packet loss in real time.

Edit: Also notice the 100% packet loss, which has been there from the beginning, between London and BCS Durban/Jhb. I've noticed they sometimes connect from one or the other, to London.

From me to VisualRoute today, is the worst I've seen yet. http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=14001&cat=500

did you read the analysis of it.....doesn't sound at all good.....

Yes, it always says 100% loss...

That BCS to London route has some serious problem.

The packet loss varies between BCS Midrand and BCS Durban. They also switch routing to London, between the two.

Sometimes BCS Midrand also has packet loss, although it often is at 0%, but BCS Durban always has high, up to 100% packet loss and at 60% average.

My Report:
HTTP Local and international browsing are good
HTTP international single thread download running at 7KB/s
HTTP international multi thread running at 27 - 32KB/s
HTTP local download I did not do
Streaming video buffering allot 7KB/s
MSN don’t sign in
Gtalk is ok if I turn off the downloads
Skype Voice chat is still the same .. the client can hear me but I get a very broken voice from him.
Torrents are 1KB/s (just about dead)

why are there so many hops.....??

why are there so many hops.....??

The amounts of hops don't really matter if there's no packet loss and hardly an increase in RTT.

The problem starts with packet loss from London to BCS Midrand/Durban to BCS Midrand/Durban.

The BCS to BCS route has some serious packet loss at both points or at alternating points at particular times.

I think it's time for BCSChief to get his techies to download http://www.myconnectionserver.com/download.html and then to make them read:

http://www.myconnectionserver.com/whitepapers/examples/policybasedevent.html

http://www.myconnectionserver.com/whitepapers/examples/routecongestion.html

http://www.myconnectionserver.com/whitepapers/examples/tcpwindow.html

http://www.myconnectionserver.com/whitepapers/examples/over_utilization.html

Within a day, they could sort out the issues...if they really wanted to pinpoint the problem and either fix it or make the upstream provider fix their side.

I hope Dave or BCSChief gives us some info on what BCS is doing to identify and rectify the packet loss.

Worse my side... Browsing max 25KB/s and Torrents at 3KB/s :(
Atleast I can Browse Sites now, without disconnecting DC and using another ISP.

Downloads and browsing has been great all day til 18:00 then my connection died and haven't been able to do anything since.
My friends connection has been dead all day.

Ok, packet loss has dropped to 14% only, at BCS Durban, 0% at BCS Midrand and has become 100% loss at the the usual London to BCS white colored hop, as well as at the hop just before DC and at DC itself... http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=14003&cat=500

It has just climbed to 28%.

...and now to 85%, all in 10 minutes.

It seems to see-saw between those figures.
