Dirk Prinsloo caught
At last.
Johannesburg - International fugitive and sex crimes accused Dirk Prinsloo has been captured, Eyewitness News reports.
EWN said Prinsloo was arrested on Friday afternoon after he and two accomplices tried to rob a bank in the Republic of Belarus.
The police’s Sally de Beer confirmed it to Eyewitness News.
"Interpol has confirmed that Dirk Prinsloo was arrested at 17:30 on Friday the 12th of June by the Criminal Investigative Department of the Republic of Belarus,” said De Beer.
It is understood Prinsloo and two other men tried to rob a bank earlier in the week.
His two accomplices were captured by bank staff and police tracked Prinsloo down two days later.
Prinsloo has been on the run since May 2006, when he failed to return from a holiday in Russia.
The former Pretoria advocate had been on trial with his co-accused Cezanne Visser on several charges, among them the sexual abuse of children.
