Whoooops - last post vanished...

So I won't post the details of the scoundrel who is selling lists of OUR email addresses to spammers... I'll just link to someone else who has already done it for me...

Unfortunately - what this guy is doing is not [YET] a criminal offense in South Africa. It is however definitely an invasion of privacy and contributing to the continuation of the scourge of spam in our mailboxes.
 
Does Mark have an e-mail address? I'm sure there's a couple thousand obscene newsletters/mailing lists we could sign him up to.

It is with great pleasure that after 24 hours of hectic e-mail communication with Mr. Tribelhorn, the man has decided to turn his act around. After a harsh exchange of words, with a couple of threats and insults, Mr. Tribelhorn now states he wants out of this business of providing spam-material.

Not to pee on their parade, but isn't the ISPA's hall of shame list just stupid? I say that because I believe it actually helps these spammers. After having received another bunch of mail spam this morning (as I do every morning), I got fed up and decided to see how easy it is to buy a list. I was battling to find anything proper, but then I found the ISPA hall of shame and viola, if I'm a bit unscrupulous, I now know who to buy my lists from...
 
We have an internet cafe in the Athlone area and everyday we have people coming in that actually want to respond to these fake emails and spam scams going around... I warn some of these people but they are so desperate they want to believe. I even have some people arguing with me that I am jealous that they won "ten trillion pounds" and that's why I wont help them LOL
 
I joke with my colleagues every time I get one of those fricking annoying SMS's!

I seriously cannot believe anyone is stupid enough to fall for that crap!

Though I have seen a lot of people being taken by those R100 32GB Flash Drive pavement specials, and then they still come in to the store looking for support for the bloody things. Or when we try to sell the same brand they think we are trying to sell them something dodgy. From a shop that has been there for aaaaaaaaages. LAWDY
