Discovery Bank

I have no idea how they get to those values. During the last cycle I spent more than R2000 at PNP on Healthy Food. I think my cash back was 75% during this period, so I should be getting R1500 back or 15000 miles, but I got 12379 miles.

The vitaly part is only 2379 miles, at 25% that means I only spent R1000 odd.
The bank part is correct, i.e. R2000 max x 50% = R1000 or 10000 miles

I'm not sure if they stick to the limits. As per the below, the maximum cash back for an individual is R500. Would this mean that if your cash back is 75%, then you can only effectively get cash back on a HealthyFood spend of R666.67. Does anybody know for sure? Are there additional limits given by the bank?

Does anyone know if surgical face masks are healthy care items. I remember seeing a vit logo on dischem website before the lockdown. And it’s on the healthycare booklet

And I noticed you get 20% discount on healthyfood at dischem. I guess dischem doesn’t have any healthyfood program so they just give you 20% discount.

The picture that you included was the vitality health part only. The limit for this has always been R500 for single member (ie 25% of R2000 max spend) or R1000 for family (25% of R4000 max spend).

The bank part (vitality money is seperate) but it is based on the same spend limits. So if you have bank / vitality money and vitality health then the max you can get back is R1500 for single member ( R2000 x 75%, being 25% from vitality health and 50% from the bank).

I am ignoring the "special" lockdown deal where the has changed to 100%

For those who've experienced both products, what's better overrall: Discovery Black Transaction Account or Investec Bank Account? Mostly similar prices!
I have both, completely different products. In terms of add on rewards discovery is way better, but everything else is better with Investec (probably the best banking app in SA, better and more personalised service, better core banking products, plus many more)

Never knew dischem gives healthy food cash back ,but normally discovery gives you the cash back after billing cycle not at the tills?

The healthy foods isn’t a cashback. It’s just a normal flat discount of 20%. I think it’s something to compensate customers since dischem doesn’t have a healthyfood program.

But I've never seen this notification from.discovery? I've bought almonds before many times and never had an instant discount

Me too. First time seeing this. Maybe it’s a lockdown promo. It’s quite nice since I also used my dischem voucher from fnb.

Interesting thank you! What account do you get your salary paid into? And what account do you do most of your spending on?

Discovery is used for CC purchases and online transactions. Investec for the rest, salary paid to Investec. I have a recurring EFT set op on Investec to transfer R xxxx to Discovery once a week, I try to keep Discovery CC at 80%+ of facility to make max use of interest free period.

It's just a sale that dischem has at the moment on dried fruit and nuts, nothing to do with any healthy food program
