I use the absa masterpass app but any of the masterpass app is fine.
You can split the payment.
When you scan the qr code, it just pulls up your account information from there you can input any amount you want and pay it as many times you like. So you can do 50 x R50 payments for example.

So when you load your card details you only load the card you want to use. You don't need to load your absa card unless you want to use it to make payment. The absa masterpass app works with any card it doesnt need to be absa.

When loading my Discovery CC on the app it never asked me for a bank card pin. I only needed to put the OTP and it was linked.

I tried loading a virtual discovery card now and it never request a bank card pin. Only OTP.

Can’t reveal my source but Discovery Bank might have Apple Pay support early next year.

I called them earlier on. They said everything I activated on their end and don’t have a reason as to why it isn’t working yet. We probably have to wait for a future update from Apple because DB is ready

Apple Pay according to Apple is not supported in any African countries, so I'll put in a request to have it in South Africa.

Hi guys. I wanted to ask about iPhone benefit with discovery bank.

Will I be able to pay off the excess amount upfront via the app so that it doesn't attract extra interest?
(e.g. I buy a phone worth R22000 but with platinum account, the max payout is R640 x 24 = R15360. Can I pay off R6640 (R22000-R15360) after I buy the phone via the app so that I do not attract unnecessary interest?)

Would be much appreciated if someone posted a screenshot of how their iPhone payment is being processed on the app

The IPhone benefit is set up as a seperate budget account (using your single credit facility). The App allows you to make transfers/ make payments from, say your CC account, into the IPhone budget account. So your proposal above should work.

I transferred a R100 into my IPhone benefit account just now and it went through.

On your credit card, what is the difference between "Available" and "Balance"?
