Discovery Bank

Spoke to a Discovery banker. Converting Active Reward points to money is coming in the future - linked to the new "e-money"offering that will replace Discovery Miles but still in development.
Thanks I wonder if it will be in 2020?

So my question is ,I'm using the new discovery cc am I getting miles ? Or must I reactivate it and pay the R435 and then will I get?

Do you know your new statement date?

As far as I know, from what I've read, you can't get Miles on the new card. The new "e-money" that is still in development replaces Miles. If you already have miles when you are migrated from FNB, they will refund you pro-rata.

According to what the consultant told me the Discovery Miles programme has come to an end. You can still use any Miles you have but won't earn new Miles. I asked about the annual Miles fee of R435 which came off my account recently and he said they would refund it pro rata but may take a while as they're doing it in "batches"

My whole purpose I keep my discovery cc is for the miles ,its my main benefit, so how long to wait for their development to e-money will take? Look how long their bank was delayed for? Maybe I should look into FNB ebucks,if I knew I wouldn't have got the new cc and kept my FNB one using the miles

They will probably launch the e money when discovery opens to the rest of the public. The migration will take about 3 months so you can expect the e money to by ready by October. I probably join their bank in late August or September. The miles are the main benefits for me as well.

Maybe join fnb as well. I got both. Discovery and ebucks does cover your banking costs.

Just get a fusion account it's both combined and you get the most ebucks this way.

R200 a month? Plus my discovery platinum cc at R90 . Then I have to work out how to get most out of ebucks. I have to fill up fuel at BP or shell as I get 50 % back from my disc insurance

I just got the invite and I have a black card in the profile . Vitality money goals is zero because my savings are below 2000? Isn’t a credit card and what are they talking about savings here

I have the platinum and I had to transfer R1000 I to the vitality savings acc to activate weekly money rewards (the 20 transactions to get to play on the board? My goal streak is also zero but I did the retirement assessment and then I need to deposit R3500 into a savings account (the R1000 I put into the vitality savings acc count's towards the R3500).so will get the points and goal streak moved up next month #confused

Well at least you get lounge visits with the black card ...PS and you may have read you don't get anymore miles until ...

Anyone done a trasnfer from FNB to Discovery? If so, how long did it take? Did you also have issues adding your discovery bank account as a beneficiary on FNB?

Depending on the amount 10 - 48 hours FNB to Discovery, Smaller amounts go quicker.
No issues adding the beneficiary, loaded the credit and the savings account without issues.

Thats interesting, I tried loading my credit card as a credit card account but it denied it.. I managed to add it as a cheque account though.. Ill try load my savings account and rather use that to transfer between the two.

Your not missing much at all.if I don't get proper info or something to attract.e to it I'm gonna move to fnb
