Discovery Bank

Just joined discovery and something to note. Discovery doesn’t look at your discovery bonuses and boasts as part of your retirement.

Whoops. I meant discovery bonuses and boosts. My retirement is about 150k but my boasts are like worth another 60k. They should look at the 60k as well then that will entice people to join discovery.
 
New update for the Discovery iOS app (version 4.38.0) is out now with improved view of Vitality Active Rewards - including Money goals

It translates into you using your Discovery CC instead of any other banks CC :)
 
Makes no sense ,1 transaction for R50 and then 2 for a transaction over R500

Well ill do this then instead of doing a once off petrol transaction of R500 I'll do 10 transactions of R50 ..lol

That's exactly what I did lol. I buy airtime in R50 increments, put R100 petrol at a time, load R100 onto a WW gift card each time I'm in the shop etc. But I really can't be bothered anymore. I don't see how it improves my financial health at all, which is what the bank is supposed to be about. I make every effort to achieve my Health and Drive goals but, like I said, the Money goal is just silly.

Oh, and refunds don't seem to affect your goal. Bought some things at Sportsmans the other day and returned them a week later. Still got the points.
 
my old discovery credit card has now been closed. the miles balance no longer appears on the discovery website. the balance does show on the banking app, but I can't find a way to spend them

In the Discovery app, pull down the ‘Portfolio’ tab. You can spend your miles from there.

Was just wondering,... Anyone that opened a discovery bank account, did discovery help in changing debit orders ?

I asked this question and they said all debit orders on the old card would be migrated to the new card. I haven't yet activated my card to actually confirm this is the case...

Never had any debit orders on the discovery credit card . Have mailed them so will see what they say on Monday. have almost 15 debit orders, and I don't feel like contacting all of them myself
 
Hi guys, I intended to open my bank account with Discovery as I have other products with them as well. However upon signing up there were two options. one for R 75 per month which is pay per transaction (wont work as I swipe my card +- 3 times per day. The second option equates to R 185 per month. This sounds expensive.

Has anyone who joined been able to get the Bank Charges back in points/rewards/cash back since joining ? Otherwise what benefit is there....

Is that for Gold and platinum?
Do your research, well that's when discovery eventually will send out their brochure with the spending Bands etc.
I also have a lot of products with them incl their new platinum cc. I won't be getting their bank mainly because (platinum) doesn't give me lounge access, no gym booster for premier membership and also I'm below their spend level to max their rewards,I'm not a huge spender on my cc .
 
I’m a slow taker upper of ther discovery bank. Have got the gold option. Pay as you bank, until I’m comfy with this.
Can someone tell me how you get your healthy food up to 50%? Does that hang off being a higher reward level? Or is it money goals to do that?
Or have I missed something. Maybe I should have taken the plat or black card instead?

It is for gold. not keen on getting the platinum
 
i have been trying to transfer some debit orders over to discovery. got the below response from one of them

"As we outsource our debit orders to a third party called MultiData, we are limited to the banks that they have registered on their system for debit order collections. They are not currently accepting Discovery Bank as a registered provider at this stage."
