Anyone signed up for the free IPhone? How are you tracking towards achieving all the goals. I should easily make health and drive, money as well if it was not for the issue where the bank does not send though all transactions to vitality. On average I have had 3- 4 points missing every week since getting the card which makes a difference between reaching the 25 target and not.
Got my iPhone over the weekend after 'practising' for some 3 weeks to see if we will hit the targets. If you hit 11 out of 12 monthly targets, you'll still be fine. That is one Money target not achieved per cycle. Our goal is 20, though - platinum credit card only.

I haven't seen my cash back yet. Maybe it's part of the problems they are having with the cashbacks.

Just read this on their website

"Members will start earning Discovery Miles from their HealthyLiving and Fuel partners in 2020".

Not sure what this mean, will they pay cash in 2019, or nothing and benefits only start in 2020 ?

I think they gonna stop paying cash and paying miles. Makes sense cause it will be cheaper for them to pay in virtual money.

I want to know when they gonna start with the multiplier.

Different question, has anyone received the 10%-15% fuel back from Vitality Money. Got my cash back from vitality drive but nothing yet from vitality money since i have been with the bank
I asked them this question. Apparently they owe me R35 and they only pay out when the amount is over R50. So I asked them how they calculated that amount because according to my sums they owe me R104. No answer yet.

I upgraded to black card by just typing in that I earn 80k a month, they did not ask any proof yet. The account is showing the black card now, waiting for delivery now.

Only did this for the additional flight discounts.
I think they don't care. As long as you pay the monthly fee, they seem to be happy. I think I might do the same once Discovery supports PayPal withdrawal, electricity purchases and data purchases and I can finally leave FNB altogether.

Correct me if I’m wrong but your requirement will become stringent. Particularly the savings since discovery gives you full points for 3 months worth of your salary. Your retirement points also will take a hit because you get full points if Discovery thinks you have enough savings to meet 75% of your income.

That wouldn't be a problem if Discovery supported PayPal withdrawal since that's another source of income for me. That's why I will stay on Plat for now.

What conversation rate will they pay in miles? For example if I currently get R212 gym booster cash back would that not equate to approximately dMiles of 2000?

Where did U read they will be giving miles multiplyer?

But you can currently pay electricity and data purchases?

All platinum Visa cards have this, it’s not unique to Discovery Card.

Friend of my contacted them about that, what was said to him --> Do not include mobile phones. I finally found it. Those benefits for the cards are actually from VISA, not discovery

And:

And the extended warranty for phones is 12 months from date of purchase.

Beware, this is not entirely true. For one, Visa benefits are not equal across countries and typically we are not as covered as in the US. Do not use this document for reference - it is for US based cards and shows dollar denominated amounts. For US cards, travel insurance, car rental insurance, even price matching refunds (if you buy a product and a short time later it goes on discount) are quite standard. In my experience with SA cards, banks seem to opt into which of these benefits they wish to include from Visa.

In fact, most entry level credit cards in other parts of the world are free of monthly fees too - because cards are so lucrative to banks on interchange fees.

For another, Discovery is the first instance in which I have actually seen the inscription "Visa Signature" on a South African card, despite other banks having similarly tiered accounts. Best practice is still to confirm these benefits with your bank, before you get caught in a situation where your expectations don't meet the reality. I called into FNB a year ago only to realise that their card didn't even have a rental car insurance waiver associated.

I see I got all my miles for the downtime period backdated. Got about 6000 miles on Friday. Miles Fee refund, Uber rewards and backdated miles from Old Card.

Yeah but they still only base miles which still keeps the earn rate lower than putting similar effort into ebucks.

All my Nedbank black cards say "Visa Signature" on them, and have for years...

Yeah, the earn rate doesn't seem too great. Hopefully they will improve it. Still something for now though.

I just used 15000 miles to pay for the remainder of a flight. So that makes two return flights from JHB to DBN this year that have fully paid with discounts and miles. Around R4000 worth of flights.

You can check here for Visa Africa's policies. https://visacards.africa/
You can create an account, link your card and it tells you what you get on your card. You can also submit claims and get other services there.
I've had a Visa Signature card from Nedbank for years, Discovery isn't the first to have this.
For reference VISA Policy Doc for SA is attached, it details your cover and who you can contact in SA to claim.

I finally have a ‘Change Account Colour’ button but when I put my income in it says no upgrade offers found. I’m looking to downgrade from black to plat. Has anyone been able to downgrade?
Also tried to downgrade. No joy. I asked and wasn't told "this functionality is not available yet. It'll be available soon"
