Discovery insure

Same schit here. Joined them in Dec. Have a claim. And guess who's doing ALL the calling and emailing to follow up? Uselessness Personified is this bunch.
 
I've since moved to Santam through a broker. Cut my premium by about 40% and I'll actually get paid out in a claim.

What happened OP?
 
They have all technical issues trying to load a claim, expect me to speak directly to their IT guys, which I did, IT says issue is with the business, and I am caught up in the middle. Cant get a claim loaded, even when I load the claim myself on their website, the damn thing crashes. They even put me through to their underwriters. It's not my fahrking job to debug their damn system issues.

Hound them on social media. That should kick them into gear
 
Posted on their FB page. No response as yet. Also asked the claims guys for the contact details of HOD claims and client services.

Try HelloPeter, they seem to take it seriously. The one time I published a review there I received a call within the hour by a manager. Best of luck
 
Also signed up with them recently so this isn't encouraging.

On this subject, when are cars devalued? Is it a year after you sign up, or January of every year? If the former I'm just waiting to see if they automatically reduce the value of my car end Feb - if not, I'm cancelling.
 
Hmmm, had issues with them a while back, especially hiking my premium by 30% due to a hijacking and saying I had a high loss ratio.

On HelloPeter Discovery Insure is ranked 2nd best behind Miway.

I'm with Discovery Insure for several years but have never had to claim.

There is no way they will reduce the value of the insured amount without you hounding them. They'll also increase your premium and blame it on the weak rand/high cost of parts bla bla. If they don't reduce your insured amount (and therefore premium), tell them you're leaving. I have a good broker, will share details if you want
