Discovery Vitality [2017]

Yea, like I said I really don't get why they do this...but at least now I know.

Easy. Their goal is to not make it too easy for you to gain points. Also they want you to do more regular activities than doing it all on a single day in a week.

Nothing easier than just walking into a VA for 100pts...which is what I'll do next time if I'm short 100pts

Nope, but I figured it out:

This makes 0 sense to me. So in the future if I'm out by 100 pts for my goal I can just walk into a gym, swipe my card and leave. But damn you go to the gym AND workout and they only count one? Ffs, is there some logic in here I'm missing?
Makes sense to me. If you have a HR monitor you could get up to 300 points for the activity. The fact that you chose to do it in a gym shouldn't advantage you (unless you need an easy 100 points) over me for example who doesn't go to gym but works out hard enough at home to get 300 points for 35 mins of exercise.

Discovery is more interested in HR data. The fact that you can walk into a gym , have a free smoothie and then walk out and get 100 points for the effort is the only benefit you can have over me

Of course it should...that's why I pay for a Vitality and gym benefit  In fact, on days when I do strength training I get a 100pts, where you would get none...

And the whole point of my post was that, by my calculation I had made enough points for the week, but since they only count the highest 'category' per day, my calculation was wrong. I think the confusion has been settled so lets move on :)

No I get where you are coming from and you have a right to feel annoyed. But since discovery care more about actual effort and not attendance , this is the dilemma. Since I have a HR tracker , I can get 200 points on the day I choose to strength training. It helps that my ticker is wierd in that little exercise or activity takes me to nearly max HR. I just hope I don't die soon haha

Hi,

I have an opening on my team, anyone who manages to ALWAYS meet their weekly goals; may DM their details.

I am consistent with meeting my goals, have not missed a goal in over 20 months on vitality active rewards.

Let me know.

Later,
T

Whats the cheapest app/device I can use to monitor my HR and get those maximum points I keep missing out on? I'm using Samsung s8+

Bluetooth chest strap heart rate monitor synced to polar beats app on your phone

Asks for someone who always makes their goals, makes 100points his first week and fails...

Maybe not true for everyone. I for example will almost always show I have not completely made my goal by the end of Friday, but then usually on Saturday it ends up as achieved for previous week. Mostly because of delayed points ect.

[-]Did the weekly active rewards goals drop back to 100 points (or whatever the minimum is) beginning of this year, January 2017? If so, would we expect the same for January 2018?[/-]

Edit: I checked back, my goal did not reset, not that I can see...

naw it doesnt reset, unless they change the rules.

I've just heard that Discovery is doing their usual system update toward the end of this year and in particular Vitality Active Rewards is changing again. Apparently the team rewards are being dropped.

That's not good to hear I was enjoying the extra smoothie, I guess they not happy paying for the smoothies, what other changea are going to happen?

Unfortunately that is all I know of. A consultant mentioned that teams were being dropped in the next system update as a reason for them not fixing the problems around teams.

No big surprise that changes are coming. New Vitality rules for next year should come out soon too. Though sad they dropping the team award.

I'm look for a few people to join my team. I always achieve, and I'm looking for others that always achieve to join. PM me.
