Those aren’t apps, they’re devices. Discovery gets the data from Fitbit/Garmin/Huawei etc’s servers. The Health App is the only app that Discovery can sync to on iOS, as per my post above. Allow your Samsung Health app to talk to the Apple Health app and the problem should be solved.Attached image shows all the apps you can connect to Discovery iOS app. Think it is really stupid that Samsung Health is not one of them. Why would Discovery do that? Don't get it.
I understand those are apps. But you link your Huawei/Garmin/Fitbit device to the relevant Huawei/Garmin/Fitbit app on your iPhone. You cannot connect those devices to the iOS Health app the same way I cannot connect my Fit e to the iOS Health app as it is only compatible with Apple devices. Anyway, you then connect Huawei/Garmin/Fitbit app to the Discovery app the same way you connect the iOS Health app to Discovery. But for some reason you can only connect the Samsung Health app to Discovery app on Android devices, not on iOS devices. Again, who knows why Discovery made that decision cause it makes no sense. Those aren’t apps, they’re devices. Discovery gets the data from Fitbit/Garmin/Huawei etc’s servers. Have you tried his solution? Even on android I have to give samsung health access to share data with the discovery app, you don't link it like other devices.I understand those are apps. As I showed in the pic attached to my previous post, the Discovery app gives you the option to connect to all those other apps. I took that screenshot from within the Discovery app on my iPhone. Samsung is just not an option.
Ok, take Fitbit for example. You link your Charge HR or whatever to the Fitbit app on your iPhone. Discovery doesn’t get the data from the Fitbit app on your phone but from Fitbit’s servers. The health app doesn’t connect to devices directly. I use an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch syncs data to the Activity app on iOS which in turn pushes the data to the Health App. Samsung Health would perform the same function as the Activity app in this example.I understand those are apps. Ok...how do I do that from within the Samsung Health app? The only option I see is 'Data permissions' but when I click on it says 'No services'.Have you tried his solution? Ok. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe the Samsung Health app pushes the data to the Apple Health app. Any way I can know how often that happens? Because I am going through the Apple Health app and there is no heart rate data even though there is on the Samsung Health app.Ok, take Fitbit for example. On your iPhone, head to Settings>Health(Apple, not Samsung)>Data Access & Devices>Samsung Health>Turn All Categories On.Ok...how do I do that from within the Samsung Health app? The only option I see is 'Data permissions' but when I click on it says 'No services'.
I'm actually not sure about this because I don't use the Samsung Health app. It should push info through in real time though, the Activity app does. I would suggest allowing access as per post #1,217, then logging a quick 5min workout on your Samsung device. Check if data pulls through and sync the Apple Health app with Discovery. The workout will be there if it worked, but you'll get an 'insufficient activity' error on Discovery because your workout was only 5 min. But that way you know it works.Ok. Maybe I am wrong. Also have another look at the pic I attached in that one post. I can tap on on Fitbit, Garmin, Huawei, etc and each time it takes me to a page of that respective device to log in to my Fitbit/Garmin/Huawei profile and thus give permission to share data with the Discovery app. There should thus be a Samsung Health option that takes me to the Samsung Health profile login page? Should there not?
Thanx. It would seem heart rate is one of the data points not shared between the two apps. Steps are so I guess that is something. On your iPhone, head to Settings>Health(Apple, not Samsung)>Data Access & Devices>Samsung Health>Turn All Categories On.
If it's just steps then that's not really going to help you much. You can get that with the phone alone. I thought it would push all data through. Sorry... It shouldn't be read only because my Polar chest strap talks to the health app this way.Thanx. It would seem heart rate is one of the data points not shared between the two apps. Just out of curiosity...it says 'Allow "Samsung Health" to read data:'. So does that not mean the data is one way? Ie towards Samsung Health app and not towards to Apple Health because Samsung Health can only read, not write data?
Try giving permission to apple health inside Samsung health?Thanx. It would seem heart rate is one of the data points not shared between the two apps. Steps are so I guess that is something.

I did but I do not see the option to do so anywhere in the Samsung app.Try giving permission to apple health inside Samsung health?
Well, I know I am supposed to do 10,000 steps a day for Vitality so it is not a complete loss as I do not always have my phone in my pocket when I move around. The watch will catch those times...if it actually shares the data to Apple Health. Otherwise I pretty much wasted my money on this thing. Just glad I went for the cheap Fit e at R680 and not the normal Fit at R1,900.If it's just steps then that's not really going to help you much. You can get that with the phone alone. Should be settings > data permissionI did but I do not see the option to do so anywhere in the Samsung app.
Did check under data permissions and all I get is 'No services'Should be settings > data permission
I know on android you trigger the request from discovery apps, then after you go into Samsung health there more options you can enable
Then I guess discovery only link it on an android sadlyDid check under data permissions and all I get is 'No services'
Are you able to return / exchange your device? Sorry I really thought that would work. Does seem like a huge oversight on Discovery's part. You can get a Huawei Band 3 Pro "for free" (provided you achieve your weekly goals) through the device booster benefit, for what it's worth. That one is definitely compatible.Did check under data permissions and all I get is 'No services'
