Discovery Vitality 2020

Sorry I was wrong. I haven't earned ANY points this week. Last points are for last Friday, 12 June, when I got 100 points for taking 10,000 steps. From Saturday onward it says 'Limits already reached' every day? Before that I got 700 points each week during the lockdown. Ie got my full 100 points each day for doing the 10,000 steps. Now suddenly I'm getting nothing? At all?
You have probably reached your annual limit of 12 000 points for taking 10 000 steps

Impossible. I got my Fitbit less than 2 months ago so will not even have done half of that yet.
I think the points from steps are also limited to 1200 per month. You can look on the discovery web-site if you have reached any limits, just to be sure (under health section)

Step points thresholds:
  • 5 000 — 9 999 steps: earn up to 1 000 points per year
  • 10 000+ steps: 1 200 points per month
All step activity will continue to count towards Vitality Active Rewards

Why would they do that? So basically I have no reason to go out of my way to do the 10,000 steps till next month. But thanks for the info.

There is a limit to the amount of points that to towards your status (silver, gold). But you can still get active reward points which go towards your weekly goal. So that's why you still want to get steps in.

Is there a new weekly limit? I.e. lower than 900 points a week? Under 'Points events' it says 'Limits already reached' for my 10,000 steps for the day. Says the same for yesterday and Wednesday. And I have definitely not gotten 900 points this week yet.
I believe they raised the weekly goal points cap to 600 (from 300)

This probably has been asked before, so apologies for that, but do they ringfence each basket of purchases at the till, or is it ([number of HealthyFood items for the month] x 20 points) less ([number of unhealthy items for the month] x 20 points) ?

Earn Vitality pointsYou can earn 20 Vitality points for every HealthyFood item that you buy at Pick n Pay and Woolworths.The “How Healthy is your Basket”tool will show you exactly how healthy your food choices are every month. We will deduct 20 points for every unhealthy item that you buy.

edit:
e.g. If you go to WW / PnP only 3 times during your monthly HealthyFood cycle:
Trip 1 you buy 10 HealthyFood items only.
Trip 2 you buy 10 normal food items only.
Trip 3 you buy 10 HealthyFood items only.

Do you end up with (10+ 0 + 10) x 20 points = 400 points for the month?
Or is it (10 - 10 + 10) x 20 points = 200 points for the month?

The least amount of points that you can earn is zero. You can never have a negative point value in a month. You can earn a maximum of 1 000 Vitality points on your HealthyFood purchases each month, which adds up to a total of 12 000 Vitality points a year.

Hey. My 2c here is I Have religiously bought healthy food from pnp and ww. And buy the rest from checkers for the ebucks. Then. Since lockdown I go primarily to pnp with a teeny bit at ww. (And odds and ends in emergency at other stores). And I have only got healthy food points since lockdown. I used to get zero every month. So I don’t get it cos now I’m buying the non healthy food items at pnp too.
Note. I have always got a fair amount of cash back. So I am swiping the cards etc

Per month, not per basket. So 200 points in your example

I have a Q about the new (not)parkrun ?

How is your distance measured?

My info and apps are synced, so I currently get points for steps (50 or 100, depending on how many steps I take). I registered for (not)parkrun , so if I now e.g. go for 10 000 steps, how does it get allocated? To a parkrun or for for normal step points? Obviously the (not)parkrun earns you more points (300), so I would like that option.

Hello all. I recently joined discovery bank. The Ts & Cs for the double cash back promo is very confusing.
If my billing cycle is from 17th onwards - what will be my cash back on the next cycle be based on?

Will I receive the Double cash until June 30 and then back to normal for the remainder of the cycle or will they just calculate it based on my discount status on the 17th of July.
Yeah I'm also interested in knowing the answer to this?

Per month, not per basket. So 200 points in your example
Ouch, so then they changed it. It used to be per basket of goods ring fenced I think?

People paying separately for baskets (one with HealthyFood and the other for the normal foods) is pointless now, from a points perspective.

Oh I didn't know it was like that before? Going on my last month's points allocation I'm fairly certain it's per month..

Paying separately can still work if you don't swipe your benefit card for the unhealthy basket

Why would this be pointless?

Just don't swipe you card on the 2nd /unhealthy purchase

It is per month
