Discovery Vitality 2021

Have you guys received your miles for HealthyFood and HealthyCare yet? I haven't got anything for my November spend yet and tomorrow is D-Day.

And their website is down so can’t check if they put up an announcement about a problem.
I got HealthyFood and Fuel today, nothing for HealthyCare.

Does anybody know if the Vitality active gear for Fitness device/Nike expires (resets) if you don't redeem a voucher by the end of the year? I'm not keen to redeem it yet since I haven't found anything I would like to buy.

Can you redeem both Fitness device and Nike at the same discount you are currently on or does it reset when you redeem one of them?

That stupid gear benefit is a mess. You can only use it on 1 item at a time, it resets each time. It wont expire or reset as far as I know.

Does anyone understand what the combinations actually apply too? Seeing as it can only be used on 1 item per time?

On the Discovery App go to Vitality Acitve Gear and right at the bottom under help tap on View limits tutorial.

It gives you the various combinations that you can use.

Thanks I see that, but let me explain for example it says 2x apparel and 2x shoes. If I buy shoes it resets and I cant buy shoes till next year, if I buy apparel it resets till next year? It also only discounts 1 item per purchase.

Or does it mean I can buy 2 shoes in a year period and 2 apparel? If I look under my purchase history it says nike footware available June 2022 (I bought June 2021) so why say that if I can buy again now?

The R6k is for the year. If you use it up in month 1, you'll have to wait another year for it to reset. What I'm not 100% certain on, is if it is calendar year, or from when you use it. From your example, it seems as if the year starts when you first use it.

To get the maximum benefit, it will be beneficial to split purchases into 2, six months apart. A part of the discount is calculated on your achieving your weekly goals, and it takes 26 weeks to reach the maximum.

You can buy two shoes and two apparel. That will max your R6k limit.

You have two shoe benefits. The one that becomes available again June 2022, and another one that you can use right now (assuming you have R2k available from your R6k balance).

There a 2022 thread yet?
Incentive

It is offering Vitality members a “limited edition” Vitality Travel gameboard as part of Vitality Active Rewards over the next two weeks.

In addition to (possible) instant R250 rewards from Cape Union Mart, Cotton On and Exclusive Books, finding a 10 000 Discovery Miles travel reward tile means the member will get 10 000 Discovery Miles back on any booking of more than R1 000 made on the Vitality Travel platform, exclusive to Discovery Bank.

Members who achieve their weekly exercise, drive or money goals this week (December 18 to 24) will earn a play on the gameboard next week (December 29). The same holds for next week (December 25 to 31), with a play on January 5.

Nice.

It's a rolling 12 months.

If you buy a device, it's reduces your 12 months cap of R6000 by R4000. So it means you have R2000 available for whatever else.
The reset date is when your cap jumps up by R4000 again. 12 months after acquiring the voucher.

You can see the wicode expiry date on the app when you view the voucher. ( You can also cancel the voucher and reallocate one at a later date when you decide it's time to get shoes)

Hi all, I have a Huawei Band 4 pro which is now obselete as it's no longer compatible with Vitality.

I won't buy another Huawei as it lasted a year before Vitality incompatibility. Sucks because the watch itself still going strong.

IPhone not an option so no apple watch.

Which is the better brand for smart watches? Samsung, Garmin or Fitbit?

Thanks a mil
