Discovery Vitality in 2016

If I visit the gym, I get 150 points. If I step more then 10000 times a day I get 150 points. But I only can earn a max of 150 points per day...

How would this scenario change in 2016?

You can get 500 points in one day for a park run...

It would be reduced to 100 point max.

To get 150 you would have to get 12500 steps

To get more you would need a HR device + above

Yes but I get my 150 points for the move app, then my gym visit gives me 150 points and cancels the moves points.

Is this correct?

You are correct. But I just thought it would give you the first points regardless and not give you the gym visit. But you will only get 150 points.

You only get the highest earning activity points. I do a Parkrun with my polar and I only get 500 points because it is the highest earning activity. I will also gain the 50 bonus points. But I will not gain the 150 normal points. If I then gym and use the move app I still won't gain any other points as I already received the highest earning activity points for the day.

Thanks.

Don't know yet, but you wont be limited to just 15000 points. It will now go up to 40000.

Sounds like they will give points for multiple activities but don't hold me to that.

But the Moves app asked for permission to make phonecalls which I'm suspicious about
Lots of android apps do that because using the phone's unique ID (requiring this permission) was the best way to get an identifier on android 1.5 and before. Does not necessarily mean it is going to make calls.

What determines the weekly points required for an award, mine is 500. Is it your Vitality level? Others at work are just 200 per week.

Based on my own experience and speaking to others, ones starting target seems to be determined by how active you are deemed to be when you activate vitality rewards. From there it moves up 50 points at a time, only when you make target but not necessarily every week.

I hadn't been to gym for two months at the point where i activated Vitality Rewards.

For 3 weeks my target was 150. Then week 4 was 200. Week 5 is 250.

Edit: I've made target every week so far.

I now need 1100 points a week to claim a reward....that is starting to get a little ridiculous.

Why i can't commit to the Apple Watch thing with Discovery Vitality. It's literally a sliding scale and if they feel they don't want to pay for user watches as too many are getting it paid by them, they can push the points required to a level which is improbable or even impossible to maintain weekly for 52 weeks.

Unless the contract stipulates the points required it's extremely risky! [<--which is why they don't]

Spot-on; I think they must have a model that balances the monetary subsidization with the rewards target.

For example if they have decided to subside R100k a month; if active rewards members are going to breach that, then increase the rewards target to minimize their cost risk.
