Dishwasher issues

Check that the blades at the top and bottom are spinning freely AFTER loading the dishwasher by giving it a push, a little protrusion from any dishes or cutlery can obstruct the proper rotation of the blades during the wash thus affecting the flow of water. Hope this helps.

Secondly name the brand of Tablets that you are using, there are some crappy quality brands out there that don't dissolve efficiently. Also provide the model just out of curiosity
Finish Powerball. Worked fine for the first half of the bag of them.

So. The dishwasher was at a repair place for a week, they brought it back saying the lower spray arm was replaced. Tested it at home, still no improvement. They tested it in the laundry, and it apparently works fine. They say there's not enough water pressure at the kitchen tap. I have a plumber coming Wednesday, so I'll get them to check. Not sure how the kitchen sink tap has plenty of pressure, but the dishwasher tap, off the same pipe, doesn't. And I would have thought the pump in the dishwasher supplies the pressure, not the tap pressure.

Hoping someone can offer some ideas here. Our Bosch dishwasher is not washing properly. The dishwasher tablets are not getting used up right (there's 3/4 of a tablet left after the wash), and plates etc. are not being cleaned adequately. This happens on any of the dishwasher cycles. As far as I know, water supply is fine, the rotors are not blocked, and the filter is clean.

Any ideas?
I bought a Bosh once, I only liked the silence, it drove me mad, so after a few fruitless visits under gurantee, I took a dive and dumped it at the rubbish dump, bought a simple half the price Defy, it still works out of the box just a bit noisier.

I also have a Bosch and also had this issue. Check that the path from the spray arm to the detergent is not obstructed when you pack your dishes. This is not as obvious as it sounds - it turns out that I had placed a scent / freshener plastic thing that I had hung in the top shelf in the middle.

As a sanity check, run the dishwasher with no dishes and see if the detergent still does not get used.

No detergent gets used, no obstructions. :( When I open the dishwasher mid cycle, when the spray arm should be working, it's stationary.

So they didn't even bother testing after the so-called 'repair'

They tested it at the workshop, worked fine, apparently.

I'm just surprised they don't seem to have a checklist of things to look at when diagnosing.

I hope you didn't pay for it.

Couldn't you test it?
I popped a hose pipe onto the tap there, and the pressure seemed ok to me in the brief time I turned it on. Space is a problem under the counter though, with the tap behind a geyser; hard to see things clearly.

Wife insisted we buy a Bosch series 4 dishwasher for nearly R9000. Plumber fitted it when I was out and disappeared

Have used it once, it took 4 hours 20 mins to complete a wash which I thought was too long. The previous machine did a wash in 45 mins

The book is the most complicated ever. Vague about what it can do and the pictures on the page do not correspond with the buttons on the machine

Spoke to Bosch. They offer no assistance

Machine is not being used as have no idea what to do

One of the buttons is said to halve the wash time. When the power button is pressed 4:20 appears on the display. Pressing the button the book says is "1/2" shows 15 on the display but the machine won't start

Sounds very odd. We have a similar version but prob 2 generations older and it's been working with no issues. My normal load is 3:30 then there is the quick load at 1hr. You mind posting a video and we can see what's going on?

No 1/2 means half a wash not half the time.

Also don’t use the Eco mode and stick to the others.

But over 4 hours is way too long.

The Bosch I do remember was pretty complicated to setup at first as you needed to refer to stuff on different pages and diagrams on another and turn stuff like self drying on which was bizarrely off by default.

So that may be why yours is taking so long.
