Disk Not Detectable

Hi, one of my hardrives isn't detectable by windows 7. In the Disk Management I can see it there but there are crossed out lines through it and it says Disk Failed....

This comes after trying to split the drive into two partitions by shrinking it.
 
Well pooks you buy a 500gb external drive.

How do you recover 100gb's of info when your drive dies dude? 100gb of data will take at most 3-5 hours to copy, a dead drive with 100gb of lost data will take how long to get that data back?
