well, I'm just telling my story in this thead....

It's called "Dissatisfied MWEB uncapped customers.........................." aint it?

I'm just sharing my story, the person who created this thread, probably also have problems with mweb, I'm not here to help mweb improving anything, thats for them to fix

I'm in cape town, and my service is bad, that might just as well be telkom that causes the cr:sick:p.... who knows?.... I have phoned telkom also a thousand of times already, re-creating my ports or account whatever, checking my line for noise...."no noise on line sir" , and telkom can't find any problem, so I guess its mweb then, I've had a wonderful 4meg uncapped connection right then I've subscribed, and then after that the sales rep who helped me messed up my account and downgraded it for some reason "and I was never informed about this", and after that it was never the same then it got finally upgraded again :erm: "after me having to phone a million of times to ask whats going on?"

Cancel d-boy, plenty other alternatives and i am sure the really expensive accounts offer 100% up time.

Do you get such a thing with adsl?

You are not telling a story mate, you told it so either live with it or cancel mweb. Surely losing 20% uptime must be costing you money? Perhaps you should focus on your company rather than trashing mweb because you cannot afford 100% up time accounts if you get such a thing.

There is complaining and out right trashing. I do sense you work for some isp because no business would be happy paying for 80%. They would look elsewhere.

What is the name of the business?

This is my first time on ADSL...... I'm in the slow process of looking for other alternatives, after this holiday I'll switch, but for starters I'm on the capped account now, and busy getting my line back to telkom also, it took them 4 months getting my line from telkom to mweb......then I picked the all exclusive 4meg uncapped, lol !!! result = me having to pay ADSL service for telkom and mewb " thats included in the all exclusive package" ~ R362 something extra

Like an idiot for not having a back up, guess some people blame others for their short comings :D. A company should never be stuck on one isp and have no back up. The people who work there should have enough brain cells to buy bandwidth from elsewhere when things go wrong at company x.

It must suck running a business at 80%, how is it surviving having someone so ummm errrm intelligent running it?
Let's not talk too much about redundancy preparation since your company, MWEB, had none for their 20000 customers and themselves when SEACOM went down the first time. Further problems resulted in heavily reduced service for all customers. As I recall, they went begging for SAIX bandwidth to try and rescue the situation (2nd time).

This thread is, presumably, related to uncapped MWeb accounts, not capped ones.

Further problems resulted in heavily reduced service for all customers. As I recall, they went begging for SAIX bandwidth to try and rescue the situation (2nd time).

We've discussed this issue too at length and to death. There was insufficient redundancy available in the country at the time. The SEACOM cable dramatically increased the available capacity in the country. But SEACOM is only ONE cable. They have since put measures in place. The cost of the service would be much higher otherwise -- hence the business-class accounts. Not sure what "your company" is meant to imply. There is no perfect company or services provider that can operate perfectly 24/7/365; at least not without paying massive amounts. The use of intentionally emotive language like "they went begging" is disingenuous.

Both Sabrewolfy (Dereck) and Killadoob are obviously linked to the company - posting at identical times as well. Another example of MWEB trying hard to stifle criticism rather than dealing with problems.

The conspiracy theory deepens and becomes more unbelievable :)

Of course, if I said I don't work for MWeb, that would be exactly what you'd EXPECT me to say, right? But, if I DON'T say that I don't work for MWeb, that would ALSO be exactly what you'd expect, right? How do you get through your day I wonder? :)

PS: How much do you think we get paid to spend our Sunday afternoons posting replies in threads? Answers on a postcard please. We sit in meetings and whoever draws the short straw is on "MyBroadBand Forum-Watch" duty for the weekend. We're not allowed to go offline at any time and we have to keep posting replies promoting MWeb. I'm glad that our replies have stopped the criticism. That means we've been successful.

Maybe he thinks mweb are allowed to show the ex vat price?

For someone who runs a company 80% of the time you sure seem clueless. I wonder if you charge your customers ex vat for hourly usage :D.

Ok sir your total is 52 rand ex vat, could you give me your vat number so i can include it on the invoice :D. Shame.

R52 will buy quite a few wine-gums though.

How's your "Forum-Watch" weekend been? Mine's been OK. Only a few more hours until our shift ends and we can stop posting our paid-for pro-MWeb replies. I hope someone else draws the short straw next weekend.

That is the very point. Why are you trying so hard to "stop the criticism"? One can understand customers or ex-customers giving critical feedback, but you two ... no..., directors of MWEB seem to take it all to heart.

Criticism is all good, a smear campaign is not.

Go look at d boy and then say to yourself this is not how a mole should act because it looks like he is a mole. Read his posts. Perhaps you are happy to let people talk crap about companies but i like mweb.

The odd thing about the companies who do this sort of thing is that they do it so poorly and obviously. It looks idiotic when you read d boys posts.

When do you criticize a company like d boy? Monkeys, vat exclusive, running a company at 80%. Mole planting is not rocket science nor is trashing a company but sometimes they make it look so hard. They also push too hard to trash. Then what happens is they do moles so poorly everyone who has a problem becomes a suspect hahaha.

Complain all you like but surely you can do so in a nice fashion and if the service is not up your standards don't run at 80% and only pay exclusive vat prices, cancel the account :D with them monkey people.

jammer oom, ok, VAT..... ok, but I still score nothing out of it by migrating my line over to MWEB, 14% blabla, it was just a example, its just all confusing the public with its VAT include and telkom with its vat exclude price making it seems like they are cheaper, very cleaver........ but confusing...... a very cleaver method I must say, and its legal....

I was told by MWEB if I go onto the all exclusive 4meg uncapped that I will score..... a couple of bucks, but yea, my 14% VAT have just made me a poephol here....

dang dang :erm:

ok.....time for some other unhappy customer to jump in....I have just explained my problem, and kinda explained my vat include and vat exclude example, in the add's....
to the normal person, they might fall into that trap by thinking that they would score by going over to the all exclusive 4meg uncapped, but in the end on the day 14% VAT!!
you pay the same, after a sales rep told you and made you belief that you will score more after migrating your line over to mweb, man u score.... it looks cheaper, because they play around with the VAT exclude and vat include... they caught me by the b@lls, I'm waiting for my line to get migrated back

That I do agree with. Migrating your line over to an ISP is definitely not worth it. I transferred mine back to Telkom 6 months ago from a different ISP and that was a biug stuff-up with billing. The ISP is completely innocent here, they did everything right, but Telkom didn't know what to do with it. I ended up being double-billed and told that it's the way things are. Any ISP that forces me to migrate my line to them will have to come with a DAMN good reason before I will consider it again.

As for the thread topic - I am one of the people that's happy with MWEB most of the time. Yes, there are hiccups here and there, but nothing I can get upset about.
