Sure if its 10 kilometers away you should have 10 seconds to press record ;)

lol once i measured the distance of this insane looking lightning bolt it took 30 seconds for the thunder to reach me .... it was like weak fart lmao

anyways of to write my thesis now >.< **** is complex. Lol right now im actually defining the properties of sound in liposomal formulation so I know some stuff on sound :D

might want to find something else to write your thesis on as your simple equation of 1 kilometre per second is flawed.

In dry air at 20 °C (68 °F), the speed of sound is 343.2 metres per second (1,126 ft/s). This is 1,236 kilometres per hour (768 mph), or about a kilometre in three seconds or a mile in five seconds.

go here in google

1.) site:mybroadband.co.za/vb
2.) type in Diwali fireworks. look at complaints
3.) afterwards type in new years fireworks. look at complaints

fireworks are a pain in the ass period. my neighbours invited us over to watch fireworks and not one of them made an exploding noise or left their yard

I did search actually but i used the MYBB google tab at the top found one about Guy Fawkes in 2010 (say about 50 posts) one about new years 35 odd posts yet plenty about Diwali this thread so far over 160

I dont like the hypocritical attitude some people have they complain on Diwali but all silent new years / guy Fawke

Me i hate fireworks I used to have cats and saw the way they freaked out because of the noise - not to mention when my kids were little they used to freak out . - I Think in this day and age we could create an alternative (all the light no bang).

Wanna know why the Diwali thread is that much longer? because it's full of idiots arguing FOR fireworks and general trolling to get a rise out of the same people that moan about ALL BLOODY fireworks. Use your brain and you will see the same people (me included) bitch about rockets / noisy fireworks being used in residential areas at ALL times. Stop being the stupid victim and trying to make it into a religious/race/whatbloodyever thing, mkay.

Learn to use your brain And read I hate Fireworks So Ya i'm the stupid victim that complains all the time not only Diwali!
What i hate more though is Hypocrates who only hate it during Diwali and have no problem when its new Years or Guy Fawkes (which i hate more because most people have F-all Idea what its about and still go burst Fireworks)

Oh look I noticed you posted about 0 times how much you hate fireworks :wtf: in the Guy Fawkes thread:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...es!-Where-to-get-Where-to-burst-fireworks-CPT

I guess you fall in the Hypocrate category?

Dear god, my eyes.

I hate fireworks full stop. Religiously motivated or not. Thinking back though to last year ... I actually cant remember having a big issue with Guy Fawkes. Maybe one or two but really was of no consequence. I will see tomorrow or tonight whenever it is how loud it is ... but ja ... I hate fireworks full stop. Fireworks belongs in profesional shows and should last 30 minutes tops.

crackers are dumb .... I do not like crackers it goes bang. WOW so amazing that is. :erm:

as for the rockets ... yeah rockets are dangerous but they usually FLY HIGH up and are small and make little noise. The noise making displays are the HUGE ones which come in the launchers or a battery. The law is pretty clear on that too

The law is clear. If it goes bang, it's prohibited. If you want to argue, go argue with the law, not us.

There's no reason people need to fire fireworks that make loud noises on Diwali. It's the festival of LIGHTS, not the festival of explosions. And the law seems to agree with that assessment.

Just got back from the vet. When we woke up this morning we found that the smallest dog had been hemorrhaging the entire night. The kitchen and lounge floor were covered in blood. Not sure if it was related to the fireworks and stress levels, but we noticed last night already during the loud booms that she was very lethargic and cold. The vet is going to keep her all day for observation. :(

To top it all off we also picked up a stray on the way home last night. Poor doggie had obviously injured itself jumping a fence somewhere. Took it to the vet as well.

I also seem to think that Guy Fawkes is not such an issue because there aren't that many peope letting off large quantities of large fireworks. Hell I can't remember the last time I even lit a firework on Guy Fawkes or New Years tbh...

Hope your dog ends up being ok dude... When I was out driving last night I saw my fair share of dogs running on the road, and returned them to their homes if I could find out where they lived, at least 2 owners were besides themselves with grief and anger because they'd tried their best to keep their dogs safe and calm but they still escaped.

Eish :( Sorry to here that Garyvdh - hope your dogs will be OK

Seriously, are we really going through this every year?

You've learnt when it happens, accept that it happens every year and plan accordingly.

Put it in next year's calendar so long and you don't have to moan about it on the internet afterwards.

Plan how? Ideas would be most welcome.

Yes we will go through this every year until the people who let off large fireworks get it into their thick skulls that it is illegal and angers pretty much everyone around them.

As for the planning, I made arrangements, I gave my dog Rescue, but it didn't help because I couldn't plan for the fact that the moron near me was letting off rockets that were large enough to rattle my windows.

Plan ahead by capping the guys with biggenbang fireworks with a biggenbiggenbanger up their tootsie.

I'm dreading this year's New Year already.

The law is pretty clear. People can kick against it as much as they like, but what they're doing is illegal. Stop expecting everyone else to bend over backwards so that a select group of people can break the law.

Damn, that sucks. Hope your dog pulls through all right.

No, they don't seem to suffer from a special kind of miserable, they don't abide people breaking the law to "celebrate" their religion. Its not allowed, therefore it needs to be stopped.

Fireworks are not illegal, stop trying to justify your hate and intolerance behind a law you cannot understand.
