i have dsl 2640u hw c2
i was trying to install new firmware but i was dc while upgrading.
so i lost the access to the router from web interface and i cant reset it any more.
i tried to download RRT(router repair tool) and the fTp method but i am not experinced in sich these things.
and many things i dont undrstand in these things, so in brought a serial cable with rj45 end i think it might help
so would any one explain step by step what to do to retrive my router back insted of useing it as an ashtray

Welcome to the forum Zakoket.;)

There was a thread on this somewhere in this great forum.

Unfortunately the outcome wasn't good and i reckon you bricked your router.

Lets see if mybb guru's Pada and Archer could correct me in case im wrong.
 
demon angel: unfortunately I don't know what to do when you've bricked your D-Link router, because I've never bricked my own D-Link routers before :)

You can try the crash recovery like explained at the following page: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14090809

My guess is that the router has to be flashed with a JTAG, which would mean that you have to RMA the device, since the JTAG connection is inside the plastic cover.

zakoket: did you try to flash the router via a wireless connection?
