DNS Errors

Hi

I've moved to a new fibre provider and I'm getting frequent drops in fibre connectivity where I get a DNS error along the lines of "NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" or "server IP address could not be found".
It will happen every 10 or 15 minutes, last around 10 to 30 seconds and then all is good again.
Any ideas? Router issue or fibre issue?

I'm using a D-Link DSL-G225 router (worked on my Telkom line no problem). I also have access to a Huawei CPE B315s.

Cheers

When you detect a drop in connectivity, open up Command Prompt (Windows Key + R, type 'cmd', hit enter)

Run a traceroute to 1.1.1.1 and see where the drop is. Enter the following into Command Prompt and hit enter:

Code:
tracert -d 1.1.1.1

If the tracert can't complete the first hop, the fault is between your device and your router.

Shotto, I'll try that tonight.

So I gave it a try.

Doesn't seem to be between the device and router:
