Bwhahahaha.... Jy is besig om lekker k@k te praat. There is no way that anything can gain so much by only switching to a slightly higher octane fuel!!

I agree increasing octane doesn't increase power but its pointless explaining what I meant if you didn't get it to start off with.

Riding a motorcycle every day people never care attitude when it comes to operating heavy machin never ceases to amaze me.

It's as people are completely oblivious to the fact their car weighs 2tons or more and the insane damage it can cause by their simple inattention.

I've seen it all.

From people with their little useless dogs sitting on their lap and obstructing the steering wheel and basic control, to the obvious cellphone to people with their iPad on the wheel reading.

Then there are the multitasking types who think they can do it all at once, yet they can't actually drive at all while on their phone and smoking or eating a burger.

Ja well it is more exciting than driving. I mean after a while the whole black tar, yellow line to the left, white stripey thing to the right... It gets boring.

I met with an accident today.

My dash cam footage shows that I am driving for atleast five seconds infront of the guy who rear ended me.

He claims he didn't see me and that I cut infront of him without indicating (read that carefully).

Things could have been a lot worse as I was knocked hard from the back (I didn't hear an attempt to brake- no tyres screeching) and I knocked the standing vehicle infront of me.

Gathering from what he told me and the dash cam footage I can only conclude he was not looking on the road and was using his phone.

it looks to me like these days a Dash CAM is necessity as well as one in the REAR window......
I think with these devices becoming more affordable reading your post has made me think about doing that. Because now it's his word against yours unfortunately (unless by some chance a Witness saw him and vouches for you)

Talking about this with the wife the other day. I won't be surprised if insurance companies make it a requirement at some point.

I think it will become a standard item on cars in the future. What happened to saturnz? Did he have a meeting with the rear-ender in a dark lonely alley to sort out the claim ?

I don't think we should bring his sexual orientation into this.

Cape Town laws are tougher when driving with your phone than in other provinces.

The cops are supposed to take your phone (u keep your sim card) away for like 48hrs and u still pay a R500 fine.

AFAIK it's already a requirement in Russia (or at least it reduces your premiums), I figure it's just a matter of time.

Also bump for saturnz, please share your aspirations with us.

Good luck.. not ever going to happen.. but if the fine is only R500 then it's more lenient than dbn where the fine is r1500
