hell to the no, but the ANC loves flogging a dead horse,
and somebody has to pay for thier incompetence, and guess who that is?

you for "giving the ANC another chance"

I dunno then, as who would believe their slogans? Drunk people, Stoned people, Dead people?
illiterates? convicts?

show me who actually believes in the ANC empty and laughable promises.
Streetwise and a t-shirt is all it takes.

Yes, we do need a post office service. A WORKING ONE!

But that won't happen until the ENTIRE ANC gets out of the system and then also the EFF.

Yes, but only to get car licences, as it's even worse having to go to the traffic dept. to get them seen to.

EDIT : change my answer to "No", now - not a physical PO, anyway, because of this :

The less "state" anything, the better. The only thing that works that the "state" does - is SARS. Wonder why...

If the ANC gets out the way, then maybe.

If I look at the courier companies, like Postnet and the delivery office at Takealot, I see efficiency, cleanliness and competency. I am also very sure my package will be delivered. Aramax at PnP is also very efficient. Conversely, the SAPO is filthy, needing paint and a bucket of soap and water. I feel very uncomfortable in those premises. Almost as bad as state hospitals. Some of the SAPO staff do try hard to give good service, but they are in the minority. I am still waiting for a package that my Daughter sent from the USA more than 3 years ago - but I have realised that it was stolen.
Do we need this SOE? I don't think so, not when we cannot trust them to do what they are supposed to do.

Going on 3 months now to send a letter from Joburg to Cape Town

Would love to have a functional Post Office.

But this won't happen while the ANC is in power.

Our local PO Box service was cancelled a year ago (non-payment of building rental by the PO) and taken over by a private enterprise for a higher box rental fee - I cancelled.
I currently only use the PO to renew Car Licenses.
I receive 99.9% of communication, bills, magazines, etc. via email, courier or internet access.
Many of my colleagues, however, are BC and need some sort of package, hard copy, literature delivery service. I voted yes for them!
PS: I am 75

I have to agree old snail mail is dead. More over the Post Office has had it's opportunity to establish itself as a courier service and has failed. The last thing we need is legislation forcing a failed courier service in as the only courier service, so I believe the best way to solve the problem is to close the post office down so that it no longer tempts the government to meddle in things theyy have no place meddling in like courier services.
