All these stones were carved using hand tools and interlock precisely. You can't even see most of the joints in the photo:

We don't, but that's different to can't.

We don't because it's a really inefficient way to build things. We build structures far greater in size a lot cheaper and a lot faster today.

A bunch of M100s. You'd need less than 10 of them. (EDIT, not true, you'd need a few more, but you could do it)

Unless you're wondering how you lift it vertically? You don't. You pull it up a ramp.

It's not that it's impossible to do these things today. It's that we just have no need to build this way. Why the fsck would we want to? It's so wasteful. All of our technology is built around building efficiently. Not moving big fsck off bits of stone for no readily apparent reason.

The argument that we can't today do things ancient Egyptians etc. did is idiotic. We can. We just have absolutely no reason to. Imagine how much it would cost to build a pyramid today? All for what? A handful of tiny rooms inside with less square meterage than the average 2 bedroom home? Jesus why would any sane person WANT to do that?

No it wouldn't apply back then. They built these things for different reasons to why we build building today.

They did it to appease the gods and all sorts of other reasons that are no longer relevant to us building things today. Duh.

In Egypt they did it to house their god. Their pharaoh. When he died. We don't do that sort of thing today. It's inefficient and dumb.

There is no way a limited budget builds that. It takes years during which you have to pay the craftsmen. Even stone houses built in the early 20 th century cannot be afforded today because the cost of employing stonemasons carving stones by hand is prohibitive.

Totally get why it looks “stupid and pointless” to us, but back then it made sense. Pyramids weren’t just tombs—they were massive status symbols, religious statements, and a way to show the pharaoh had total control. Doing it the hard way? That was part of the point—showing power, organizing society, and leaving a legacy that literally lasts forever. From their perspective, it wasn’t pointless


Ironically we still build pointless shyte, for status and power, nothing has really changed, only the methods we do it. We spend excessive amount of money on ornate family tombs.


Burj Khalifa, Dubai – tallest building in the world. Sure, it’s impressive, but do we really need to see the Earth from a mile up? Flex level: extreme.
The Large Hadron Collider, Switzerland/France – billions spent smashing particles together to see what happens. Science yes, practicality… debatable.
The Ryugyong Hotel, North Korea – 105 stories of empty, unfinished space. The world’s biggest ghost hotel.
Palm Jumeirah, Dubai – an entire artificial island shaped like a palm tree. Looks amazing from above, mostly pointless otherwise.
Vegas’ Eiffel Tower & Venetian Canals – fake Paris and Venice in the desert, because… why not?
Luxury megayachts – floating palaces bigger than small towns. Most of the time, they just sit docked.
The Millennium Tower, San Francisco – fancy, expensive, and now sinking. A literal leaning skyscraper.
Sprawling parking lots for half-empty stadiums – space for 10,000 cars, used by 500 on a normal day.
The Kansai International Airport, Japan – built on an artificial island, costing billions to fight subsidence and earthquakes. Amazing engineering, mostly overkill.
The city of Ordos, China– built for a million people, almost nobody lives there. A modern ghost town of epic proportions.

What about European cathedrals, over engineered and overly complex for no other reason

Notre-Dame, Paris – took nearly 200 years to build. Flying buttresses, gargoyles, stained glass… basically a medieval Instagram flex.
Chartres Cathedral, France – 26,000 square meters of stone, hundreds of statues, and one of the most detailed rose windows ever. Nobody needed it; they wanted awe.
Sagrada Família, Barcelona – construction started in 1882 and still isn’t finished. A family-sized cathedral that’s basically a sculpture on steroids.
Cologne Cathedral, Germany – took over 600 years to finish. Seriously, six centuries. Most of Europe moved on, but they kept building.

The problem (and correct in current parlance) is the word "travel"
We assume, as is though today that to travel means physically move an entity from one place to the other
Quantum physics has already demonstrated that an object can exist in more than one place at the same time
Stretch your mind a bit and this will reveal that moving from (say) the Earth to somewhere a few light years away in a rapid fashion is not impossible
How that would be achieved is far beyond my comprehension. But what we have learned from Quantum physics in the past few years has confounded some "laws" of physics

Sir Isaac Newton, brilliant as he was could not have imagined what we have discovered today
