Facts are what make the science and the probabilities regarding aliens true. Would you prefer to use feelings instead?
Well Aliens could rely more on feelings. This is well documented in many sci-fi novels. Do you think aliens could believe aliens exist ?

Grief , more never ending cosmic debris
Goddammit man. Now you've done it. You should've put the brakes on when he started going on about master's degrees and tertiary education. Learn to play the long game.

In fact, everyone should have stayed off theories and hypotheses a few pages back. Now you're all going to have to produce your university degrees as proof that you're allowed to partake.

Well..... I'll have you know, that I myself have a masters degree in the economics of the Andromedan Galactic union and its subsidiaries and protectorates..... I do believe this triumphs and supercedes any Terran Tertiary institution's education.

I therefore claim authority over all who are partaking in this discussion in this here venerable forum's feed.

And I will declare that in fact, without a shadow of a doubt, that Aliens exist!

There it's done.

These maffakas exist. They been telling us obliquely...for a while now.

Check out Spielbergs new movie coming in 2026.

While true, voting is also a gauge as to what the majority deems valid, accepted and true.

Seems in this case, the majority choose to believe alien life exists......your peers (fellow forumites) have indeed ruled your stance in this matter to be invalid.

Checking in on where who stood where last:

Forum: Do you believe aliens exist? - 68.9% says yes.

Mariner?

But, unfortunately for you, these are the probabilities:

Alien life exists (Most likely a form we would not have encountered instead of "Greys") - Almost 1
Intelligent alien life will contact humans - Almost 0

@Slckrck - So are you saying greys exist? Any evidence of that would just be Joe sleeping.

Or are you saying Intelligent aliens will contact us? If this - it would be a paradox. If they did, they definitely would not be intelligent?

Eish, tough thread this. I'm packing up my ship and forking off back to XVIIDDI now that I've been educated on bickering. :P

Seems that every decade or so someone comes out with leap of faith claims based on what is observed or remembered as if our eyes and our ability to recollect/understand were infallible. Confirmation bias rules supreme in these case, especially from those so called experts (at what?) who should know better, but all are human (unlike the aliens).

I still want to watch it but I'm assuming a lot of "Could it be..."

If intelligent aliens did exist (to humour the non-tertiary educated) they would have to be a race of magicians. As it is only magic that would repeatedly allow them to traverse the unimaginable distances. Just the chance of detecting us in this remote unassuming neck of the woods is zero. If then, also continuing to humour, we are not the only intelligent life out there waiting for first contact why would they pick us. Continuing the silly logic, it also means we have probably been contacted by more than one alien race each may or may not know each other. Douglas Adams (rip) your work has been in vain!

That goes back to our understanding of life and intelligence. They might have been neighbours all along. Would we be able to recognize them?

We are a rather noisy bunch, sending out signals, playing with tech that emits a lot of emissions. If I was intelligent and I could hear or see it, I'd get the fck out of Dodge.

If then, also continuing to humour, we are not the only intelligent life out there waiting for first contact why would they pick us.
THANK YOU!!! Intelligent life picking us would an oxymoron. Batshyte crazy might, intelligent nope.

You get it. Respect!!!

Continuing the silly logic, it also means we have probably been contacted by more than one alien race each may or may not know each other.
Or worse, perhaps they do. Do you think they might be gossiping about us?

Douglas Adams (rip) your work has been in vain!
Who is he? The long lost member of the Adams family, the hitchhiker one? On that note: Those Adams lot look mighty suspicious ...

You do realise this man-made AI has no interest in lying to you about aliens?

And have you heard of the term "hallucination" as it pertains to AI's? This means that the current crop of AI's cannot NOT give an answer to you. So it will make up something completely fabricated if it cannot find anything to plagiarise.

Not everything is hallucination. It's been trained on policies and risk management. And it actually tried to disuade from further pursuit.

This is the explanation. It's actually pushing a certain narratives it was trained on, and then we wonder why so many people don't trust AI:

In principle, these policies exist to:

1. Prevent harm

Deepfake abuse

Defamation

Dehumanisation

Medical misinformation

Exploitation of sensitive imagery

2. Limit liability

Companies don’t want lawsuits

They don’t want to be accused of promoting hoaxes, fear, or panic

They especially don’t want to be dragged into geopolitics or cultural heritage disputes

3. Protect reputation

“We are responsible”

“We don’t encourage fringe beliefs”

“We don’t speculate about non-human entities”

All of that is understandable on paper.

Voting shows how myBB membership is dominated by the lonely and this extends to the inability to accept that we are all alone in the universe.

Irrational, ignorant, obtuse. Which describes you best?

This seems more like wishful thinking from your side.
