do you donate blood?

I have O- blood so I feel obligated to donate. I do it regularly.

I'm not sure how to encourage more people to do it though, most people I speak to seem a bit indifferent.
Same here, O neg, I donate every time they sms me to come and donate.

And today is apparently donation day.

I used to but then had issues with my blood pressure (stress related). Now that my BP is back to normal I would love to start again.

I do not donate. Will never ever donate. I will gladly pay for blood if I ever need it. If there is none available, so be it.

did it a few times, was quite painful experience with such a big needle, and nearly passing out, due to my alien psychology.

not very nice experience, but do see how important it is.

also, I believe O positive is universal donor, so doubt how important my blood actually is.

Yup whenever I can, if I can. Body just makes more of the stuff so why not.

I try to donate as often as I can, but it's nowhere near enough. I actually don't get any side-effects from it (being big helps here, I guess) and it is actually helping me get over my fear of needles (the big reason I really started donating).

I did until changing jobs recently.
Used to work within walking distance of a donor clinic.

I donate regularly, around 4 times a year. The Colony SANBS centre in Craighall has very comfy chairs, for when I've missed it at work.

i agree with the comments above. people should donate. its good. however part of me also feels that they should encourage (bribe) more donors into giving. for the amount of money they are charging, i feel they can pay the people like 20 bucks a donation. if they not turning a profit, then add the 20 bucks on to the end user.

another thing i forgot to mention what that for every 4 donations a year they hand out a nice thank you gift. in the last couple of years its been some sort of bag. the laptop bag last year was quite cool. im quite chuffed when i receive my gift... and it encourages me to continue donating.
