do you donate blood?

Nice- it's better quality than most others.

If you have an inside connection there- suggest they partner with RAIN for free WiFi while donating :)
Coincidentally I was on Rain when I donated on Monday, I think I got 0.01mbps down and it failed on the upload. Rain in Stellenbosch is up to s....t

They do have free wifi, but one hand on the phone makes it fun to use

Not allowed to. Cancer is a bitch. So I am not allowed to donate at all.

Thanks to everyone donating. February the prepared two units of blood for me before a liver operation. If it wasn’t for donations like yours I might have died if I needed the blood.
In the end, I did not need the blood. Just sad that I still had to pay for the blood.

Had an operation on the 9th of September where I had a huge amount of blood loss, but gladly did not need a transfusion. I did end up in ICU and high care for close monitoring afterwards and felt real crap and weak for two weeks afterwards.

This afternoon at spar, only went to spar because the power was off.
Only seen they were there because their van was parked outside, unfortunately they set up on the
ground level, where no one goes because the liquor store is closed...

True, but the undercover parking ghost zone?
Spar could have placed them on the same level on the way out.

and at more visible places, or more foot traffic

I was ask to join a blood donation committee. They say people are not given enough blood and we must think of plans to get people to start to donate and on a regular basis. I do give every 56 days. I know Jehowa witnesses are not allow to donate, but wonder if muslims are allow to give.
I really whish that we can convince the SANBS to take my blood. Due to respiratory problems cause my saturation level to hover around 88% which in turn case my hemoglobin count to climb to above 19 to compensate for the low oxygen levels
To bring the hemoglobin count down to acceptable levels I have to regularly have 500ml blood drawn in at very short intervals until the count drops to around 16.
Although I regularly donated blood when I was much younger SANBS now refuse to accept me as a donner because I am over the age they take on new donners.
This is a great pity because periodically some 1.5 to 2 liters of perfectly good usable blood is destroyed.

At what age do they stop accepting new donors?

Same here, every time I go in to donate they ask stupid questions like who's blood is that, why is it in a bucket etc...it's really annoying.

Yes they require those that are under 16 years old to have the written permission of their parents to donate blood.
