It's better if you get comfortable with crypto a swift payment from the US is just prohibitively expense. Use crypto or PayPal or @Speedster wise?

Yes I have. Did some donations with it, but plan on doing more purchases with it in future.

is it possible? or not?
Open a wise account. That'll give you a US bank account number in to which they can deposit and then you can withdraw that to your PayPal or send it to another bank account (in the currency of your choice).

Let me know if you're interested and I'll pm you a referral code which gives you a discount on your first transfer.

Yes I do. And I only have the option to withdraw to a foreign bank account, all the money I earn and deposit in there. Its not even registered by them as tied to a South African. Because quite honestly FNB Paypal and SARS sucks, they removed those 2 from my account.

I figured out that if you create an invoice with PayPal it allows the person to make payment with a bank card it's a bit silly and a long way of getting paid.

PayPal informed me they are going to add Vat onto my invoices from January I don't know why all of a sudden this is happening but I found a YouTube showing me how to remove it. Does this mean I will have to do a tax return on my PayPal from the following year?

Has this happened to anyone else?

You were supposed to declare Paypal income on your tax returns in any event. The banks already reported it to SARS. If someone picks it up at SARS you may face some tax evasion charges in coming years or decades.

I only really started using PayPal early this year its not like ive been using it for very long

January and February's transactions needed to have been reported on your tax return for this year. After February, you will need to report it on next years' tax return then. The 15% VAT charges for any purchases have nothing to do with anything, except it being paid to SARS by Paypal. You still need to report any income though.

I got an email from PayPal if I withdraw more money from the account it will take longer for the money to reach my bank account.
Does that sound right?

What is the longest you have waited for your money once you withdraw it from PayPal and then it hits your FNB bank account?
I withdrew from PayPal on Friday and still to this day it hasn't cleared into my FNB bank account?

did your money from PayPal eventually come through?

Trying to help a friend withdrawing their PayPal money to SA, I don't have PayPal so I have no idea how to do it and what the relevant costs involved are?

Yes, I’ve got 10 USD in my PayPal account ever since FNB allowed transfers to PayPal. Never found a use for it.

I’m now holding onto it just in case our economy crashes harder than Zimbabwe, and my 10 USD lets me buy a house here or something.

Even before officially supported in rsa...

No such thing. It was initially supported and they later pulled out. But they allowed old users to retain their SA accounts.
