One side of my family did something to prevent this - the house being left to two brothers was transferred when their mom discovered she had a terminal illness, rather than wait for her passing.

But there needs to be good trust in such a family of course.

Saved my ass recently as wife had one with them too


I am however changing mine shortly (updates etc), but also because FNB are ****en useless

FNB is ****ing the worst. I was painting a house and was told to deposit money for car parts at FNB. Now I didnt have time to change and walked in to pay. they refused to let me in. So i go home took a shower changed to my best clothing i own they still refused to help me. I had to go to my bank put the money back into it, and send it via eft and had to beg the man to send me the parts because he wanted it paid cash into his account for whatever reason

yes, friend of mine did that too. Transferred to the youngest child name, when he finished school.
 
Yes, I just updated mine a couple of weeks ago. You need to get one!!

The ANC thanks you for your selfless act of donating your property to them. They will be good stewards.
In all honesty, have you considered donating to a charity in your scenario?
 
They should teach the estates process at school.

Also a note, the original will is all the government cares about. You can get a copy taken as the will but it takes effort. If you plan on moving overseas, I'd suggest having two wills, one in South Africa and one with you. Make sure you have a trusted party that can execute the Will on either side unless you have no assets on one of the sides.

This is true, unfortunately. However, when one makes use of the capital legacy protection plan these things are covered.

My mother passed away in 2022 she had an up-to-date will and testament with CL and they handled the whole estate for us. Done and dusted in roughly 18 months. Properties transferred, RA's paid out, life insurance paid out, policies paid out, everything done.

I am also with CL and having first-hand experience with something like this I would not have it any other way.
 
My wife's one friend is an attorney and our wedding present from the attorney friend was her doing our will and testaments for us. Quite scary that the ink on my marriage certificate wasn't even dry yet, and I already bequeathed every last possession of mine to my brand new wife. Slept with one eye open for a couple of months...updated the wills when our daughter was born.

Who says Landry is dirty? Might be his full names, or name and surname. Dirty Landry. May even be why the family hates each other. Because he named the kid Dirty.

friends with benefits is a lot less scary and has a lot better outcome if they want to leave the relationship. I don't care if people say sleeping around is bad but look at you. You have to sleep with one eye open because you don't know if she is going to kill you in some way. That is no way to live. Make sure everything goes to your daughter.

When my phone rings and she tells me she wants me to sleep over i know what she wants and I know what I want. no paper work no stress about finding glass in my food.
