do you have braces on your teeth? had? considering?

Had braces, worked a treat. BUT, even after using my retainer the teeth on my lower jaw shifted slightly but I was told that that may happen as the teeth will still need to find their natural position.

mmm I dunno...all I know my sister spent like R800.00 on a product to make her eye lashes grow and they still dont look like his. It is guys like korn that makes woman fcking crazy mad with envy haha

I want boobs though :p

I have always played around with the idea of having my teeth done one day, but for some reason I just kept postponing it (most likely because they looked so ugly), but after reading this post of yours techead, I must say you have stirred my curiosity ... this new technology is actually very cool. If possible, send me some details on the doctor you used for your teeth... Costs wise, its nowhere near as expensive as I thought them to be...

I had braces, if your teeth are very skew then get it. If they arent then consider if its worth the money, you can get clear braces and reverse braces to hide it, but the more advanced you go the more expensive it will be

Only thing that worries me, I was told by my local dentist, the older you are, and longer you postpone it, the longer you have to wear braces and more difficult it is to align your teeth...

I had them(demon bracers) a few years back
except when I broke my wire and it stabbed my cheek :erm:
dem retainers hurt
14k + 300 a year for a few years
Told dad to give me 14k instead :D

Yes because braces move the teeth with sheer force, your regenating ability drops with age. You wont have the braces for a longer period but the retainer you will. And you will have to take it very seriously, if an adult doesnt wear the retainer then the teeth can go back to the original position, also your teeth can be loose depending on how much corrective work must be done

@ tsume

if your teeth moved already its too late for the retainer, you must restart the braces

my jaw is unfortunately misaligned

I have the same problem. I would have to spend 6 months in braces (since my teeth are mostly fine), then they break my jaw, realign it, slap some plates on and screw them in. Spend however long in recovery for that, and at least another 6 months in braces.

**** that, girls still like me, slightly messed up jaw and all so I don't really care.

Retainer still fits...barely. After 5 years of not wearing it

Oh ok then you still have a chance but a retainer doesnt have enough force to put the teeth back in place I would say. You should check up with your ortho if he an honest person :p

I cant find a Damon dentist in Joburg. Will just ask my own dentist when I go again. Those before and after pics looks great.

You don't have to go to a Damon dentist. I think all Orthodontists will be able to give you an option for clear (white) braces. It will cost a bit extra but adults usually go for it as it's much less obvious.

Braces are totally worth it, you get used to them and time flies by. Afterwards you will be rewarded with great teeth!
