do you have braces on your teeth? had? considering?

You don't have to go to a Damon dentist. I think all Orthodontists will be able to give you an option for clear (white) braces. It will cost a bit extra but adults usually go for it as it's much less obvious.

Braces are totally worth it, you get used to them and time flies by. Afterwards you will be rewarded with great teeth!

I am keen...but if the pricing that the guys here have mentioned without medical aid helping...then it is pretty much a no go. Dont think I am willing to blow all my savings on braces. I would love to have my teeth straightened out...but I just cant justify using all my savings to do it. :-( . Will ask my dentist anyway next time I see him how much he approximate..but it aint looking good if this thread is anything to go by.

Yep. My top row of teeth stuck out fowards severely when I was a kid, 4 years of braces fixed that. I still wear retainers at night though.

I now suffer from paranoia about losing the retainers (1 for each row of teeth) and my teeth becomming crooked again so I treat them like gold :p.

Aint that for when you actually break a tooth or when you are like a gazillion years old? :-)

Many celebrities have them so they can be used for cosmetic purposes.

They look like horse teeth IMO

You can ask them to only fix part of your teeth, i.e. if you are only unhappy about your one top front tooth sticking out, ask if they can only "brace" the top front 8 or so teeth in your mouth so that they look nice. That way if your bottom teeth are slightly skew but not badly you don't have to pay to fix those as well, especially if they aren't so visible.

Probably not all Orthodontists will like doing this as they may be pedantic and want to fix everything so that all your teeth are perfect, but ask around.

The reason they refuse to only fix one row, even though the other row might not be too bad is because your "bite" will be incorrect.

Yes, convince them you don't care, and find one that understands. I know of someone who only had braces at the top, and not all the way back.

god dammit...why could I not have been born with a bloody perfect set of teeth! Why is nature such a bitch? WHY??? Guess it could have been worse...I could have been English. How all dentists in England aint multi millionaires I dont know mwhahahaha. Ok..just kidding hehe.

Aren't you a hater okkie:D

I had braces for 27 months. I had really messed up teeth due to a deformed top jaw. Even now it's still not 100% as I require surgery to fix my jaw. However my teeth look tons better than they did before the braces so I am happy.

I really want braces.. I am 28 and those clear braces look awesome. Just gotta get on to medical aid and I will do this.

Had them for +- 2 years. Really glad I did it when I was younger, pretty much perfect now. Still have a metal retainer (runs along the back of my bottom set of teeth) which I have never taken out. Ortho & Dentist both suggested I leave it in as long as possible to ensure things stay the same. Don't ever notice it really
