Will look into this and will most probably wear them by the end of this year. I really hate my teeth as they are.

"You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do" (Eleanor Roosevelt). Just do it, other people really don't care, they are too worried about how they themselves look.

I'd maybe be hesitant if you were going to apply for a new job and would have to do a bunch of interviews, then maybe braces will make you feel less confident. But if you are just going to be working where you are now, go for it, people will notice at first but it won't change the way they view you. As for your clients, just give them good service, then they also won't care. You are working with adults here. It's going to feel amazing once your teeth are straight and you can smile confidently when a photo is being taken of you, and there will be no more photos where the first thing you notice are your scew teeth.
 
Hi Guys,

I got a quote for R27k to put in braces (includes monthly appointments, for 15 months). I think it excludes the Damon braces, which I believe to be an additional R10 (top and bottom). Does anyone know if this is a reasonable price?

Also, have anyone ever had dealings with Dr Piet Botha in Pretoria?
 
I have no idea what the going rate is nowadays, but I think R27k with appointments doesn't sound too bad. I had braces put in in 2005 and the braces cost R12k, with monthly appointments being around R1k. Just note that you might go over your 15 months. Both me and my brother had our braces for longer than originally quoted (24 months). I went about 30 months and my brother had his for just over three years.

As stated earlier in this thread, still not 100% due to my top jaw being slightly deformed but still miles better and I'm extremely happy :)
 
Have had since feb. I have normal metal ones. Its ***, but hopefully worthit. Cant eat right, food always stuck everywhere and every 6 weeks after checkup its about a week of pain until the new beidges have settled in
 
How much are braces nowadays?

Like many in the thread, I had perfect teeth when I was 18 because of my braces as a youngster ... But due to not wearing the retainer, my teeth went crooked again

In 2012 they were R8k for the top teeth, according to the post!
