I enjoy listening to "heavier" and rock / metal music when I do monotonous or tedious work.

When I do design or architectural modeling work I enjoy Indi / Chill / experimental techno / Icelandic / Scandanavian kind of stuff.

When I do stuff that requires thinking, calculations, building standards etc. no music.

Do share some of Indi/techno ,Scandanaviani like that as well
 
Sometimes some EDM/Dance etc but mostly i have something on the TV in the office like CNN, Sky News etc.
 
It depends on the task I am performing, if it's just me and the machine, I listen to music. Otherwise not.
 
I listen to music when I can just enjoy music. So I dont listen to music in the background, unless its Mariah and I am in shop during December.
