PSA: Gear S3/Sport owners

I updated my Gear Sport to Tizen 4.0.0.2 by changing the region to USA.
After installing the update I changed the region back to South Africa using this app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgutman.androidremotedebugger&hl=en_ZA

You will need to determine the IP address of your watch. And use the port 26101

This process is the quite similar for GS3 Frontier/Classic and Gear sport.

If you guys want to give it a try the methods are below.
Its not too complicated.
Read all the steps and follow carefully. After changing the region your watch will factory reset. So be sure to back up your sh*t (watch faces, etc.). You will also need to forget and then re-pair the device to your phone via bluetooth.

I've noticed that the interface is smoother and there are new workouts added as well as some changes to the settings menu.

Good luck and enjoy Tizen 4.0

I currently have a Garmin Vivosmart HR. Looking to upgrade to something with HRV. Any good articles on the best budget options in SA even if not a Garmin? I am looking at the Garmin Vivosmart 3 or 4 atm

Had Samsung. With only 2 day battery life, sold and got xbox

My suunto last 2 weeks

Would like to get a new one, but needs to have at least weeks battery life

I have the new Samsung Galaxy watch ( 46mm). Its nice but .... not for me. Wore it for about 2 or 3 months , now in the cupboard. Need to flog it. Just couldn't get used to it.

Its not that it does anything wrong , just wasn't me.

The one thing I can't fault my old Sony watch on was the GPS. That thing could run Strava on it's own for more than 5 hours - no problem. But WearOS 1.6 was it's death.

Huawei Watch GT, wasn't in the market for it but family member offered it up at a good price I couldn't refuse.

Needless to say it's now a necessity and turned out to be pretty decent
