Go to Game or Makro and buy a decent fridge brand new. If you can't afford to then rather buy a smaller fridge brand new than a bigger fridge second hand. A second hand fridge is just not worth the potential hassle.

Stay away from those advertised as in working condition but needs a regas. That will be very expensive school fees.

This is what I would have done.. Tell the seller that you will pay the asking price and take the fridge. Then offer that she can still store her food in the fridge at your place for a small fee.. Win - win. You have the fridge and she still has use of it.

That was me. After you said how much it cost I quickly went, did a search and grabbed the deal. Added an extra R100 if willing to sell it immediately. Everything works perfectly and it's in immaculate condition. Also to my surprise it had another 2 years warranty. I doubt you will find another deal like this.
