Do you really know what Gmail can do?

I've been using Yahoo! mail for 11 years now. I only hear good things about G-Mail but it is too much of a schlep to migrate everything over to G-Mail.

Unless G-Mail allows me to keep the same email address?

Been using it since early 2005... it is my life... I would be hopelessly lost without it. Store everything in it. There is no better e-mail service. It is the Swiss Knife of e-mail services.

the one thing the article leaves out is the ability to give out e-mail addresses with the plus sign and have them all come back to your own account... e.g.

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

all come back to...

[email protected]

very useful when signing up for new services on web sites (although some websites know to look for that plus sign)!

Same here - I've used Yahoo since the late '90s and really couldn't be bothered to migrate. I have a Gmail account that's gathering spam... I mean "dust"
:)

Ah, but the beauty is, that you don't have to! Google will fetch all the mail from your old account while you advise people to use the new gmail account.

Seemless!

Forward your yahoo mail to gmail, then set up gmail to send as yahoo. I have multiple email addresses forwarded to gmail, and can send/receive as any one of those addresses.

I used to do that until gmail allowed fetching. By fetching I have only one place to manage all my email, your way requires changing multiple sites.
